"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust." (Psalms 91:1-2) This passage and chapter is one that many Christians know and love from the book of Psalms. David was such a gifted and anointed writer of his day and that's why these verses are still as powerful today as they were then. I love the very first part of these verses that says" He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." I don't know about you but my greatest desire and prayer is to dwell daily in the secret place with God. David understood what it meant to run to God in the midst of his battles and fears, praying and crying out that, without God, his life would be over. He knew that only God could save and protect him in the midst of life's chaos, battles and hardships. God's secret place is always a place of safety! Let's read these two verses again but now from the Message Bible: You who sit down in the High God's presence, spend the night in Shaddai's shadow and say this: "God, you're my refuge. I trust in you and I'm safe!" What a comfort to know that God is our hiding place and safe refuge in our time of trouble. But He is not just there for us during those times, He is there also when we want to spend time with Him in fellowship through worship. There is that secret place that He desires us to come to when we learn to put away our many requests and lists and just spend time with the one who first loved us. I encourage you today to rest and dwell with the Father and thank Him for that He has done, even for the things you don't even know that He did. He loves you and desires you to become a true son and daughter that will trust Him no matter what the situation is that you are facing today. There’s a song titled "Have Your Way" by Darlene Zschech who was one of the worship leaders from Hillsong Church Australia. This song has been around for some time now but the words are powerful. I highly recommend you add it to your worship playlist if you haven’t already. #psalms #psalms91 #spiritandtruth
