Children and staff rushed out to see the International Space Station fly over school tonight. The children were so excited that it was visible from our school playground!

This week's article of the week is: Article 27 - Food, clothing, and a safe home.

Children have the right to food, clothing and a safe place to live so they can develop in the best possible way. The government should help families and children who cannot afford this.

This Thursday was Unicef World Children's Day. To celebrate the children and their rights, we held a special assembly with a guest from Unicef. In after school club, children created artwork and writing thinking about a world where all children's rights are respected.

This week's Right of the Week is Article 3 - Best interests of the child.

When adults make decisions, they should think about how their decisions will affect children. All adults should do what is best for children. Governments should make sure children are protected and looked after by their parents, or by other people when this is needed. Governments should make sure that people and places responsible for looking after children are doing a good job.

A massive thank you to all of the children that dressed up for Children in Need Last week! As a school community we know the impact this fundraising event has on both children and families.

This year, the SPPS PTA will be putting on a Winter Fair! There will be lots of games, food, and prizes through out the evening. All food and events will be sold through the same ticket system that is use for the Summer fair. All proceeds that are raised will support children and their education!

Today children took part in a Remembrance assembly and learnt about the importance of respecting our past. As well as taking part in a 2 minute silence, a group of children also attended the memorial service with the Lord Mayor of Southwark.
