Happy Earth Day, everyone! This planet is so amazing and every day I find myself thankful to its Creator that we get the privilege to be its caretakers. It’s a great task that not all of us succeed at. In all of this chaos that the pandemic has caused currently, I at least find this silver lining—that the planet is getting a chance to regenerate a bit from our constant activity. Let’s take a lesson from this as we get back to our everyday lives going forward and treat it with care 🌏

Session Saturday! Here’s a fun tip on making your engagement or couples session even more personal (and that much more fun)! FOOOOOOD!! 🍩 Wanna include your favorite coffee shop or foodie haunt in your session? My answer is YES! I’m down! Is a city session more your vibe? Cool—let’s plan to hit up some of your favorite spots for food or drinks! Are you going for more of a woodsy / nature vibe? Let’s plan on packing a picnic to take your faves on the go! 🖤 Heather + Aidan went for @voodoodoughnut to make their session extra SWEET 🍩🍩🍩 and it was frickin adorbs! All the yes!! 😛

I love finding interesting and unique aspects of the mundane. It’s a thing, trust me! Plus, Emily + Joe bring the dazzle dazzle to the streets of Galveston with their adorable selves already! BAM! 💥

Random thought—I’m finding that a wedding photographer who is pretty passionate about their craft never knows just how much they are truly obsessed with photographing couples until they are told they can’t. Right now this pandemic has driven wedding photographers to posing Barbie and Ken out in the backyard to really tell their plastic love story (and I’m here for it😂). I’m telling you we are all goin a little stir crazy here but that just means we are freakin obsessed with what we do and are itchin to get back at it!! I think I can speak for the lot of us on this lol - Speaking of amazing couples to photograph, Erin + CJ!!! What sweet souls with an amazing connection and such magic! Gimme more of this smolder once we get back to it and little bits of joy elsewhere in the meantime🤘🏻

WEDDING PLANNING WEDNESDAY - - - Happy Wednesday everyone! With all this downtime from our increasingly hectic lives, I’ve heard from quite a few brides that they have been using this time to plan and reach out to vendors for their 2021 or end-of-2020 wedding! Quite a few of you guys have asked me “what are some tips you can offer during my photographer search?” - My answer! I have a ton of tips (my brain is always churning with information haha 😅) but my number 1 is make sure to ask to see full galleries from past weddings the photographers have documented when interviewing them! This will allow you a glimpse into seeing how detailed the photographer is with what they capture and how they handle different lighting situations! Every wedding presents its own challenges with light. Trust me, you will want a pro who is skilled and prepared to handle it all! - This will also help you envision how they will document your own day! What style do you note when you see their work? Are they more documentary catching the moments as they happen? Is their style more directed and posed? A combo of the two? Awesome! You can now see start to envision how your day might look thru their lens! - Each wedding is vastly unique with its own lighting and vibe, so make sure when looking thru galleries to keep this in mind! No two weddings are ever the same, but viewing full galleries should help give you an overall vibe and style that’s so helpful to see before hiring your artist! 🖤 - If you’ve been eyeing my work and are curious about my full galleries, never hesitate to hit me up! I love sharing them!

Who misses the beach?! 🌊I know I do! Even more than that, I’m missing my friends, fam, and clients! The social distance is REAL, dude, and it’s gettin’ to me a little. . In other news, my official website is FINALLY in the works and going to be up soon! I can’t wait to share it with you guys!!! The excitement is real, especially because @kylastudio.branding is designing it! I’m super stoked to be launching it soon! 🙏🏻🙌🏻

THE PRIVATE LAST DANCE—“should we do one?” . When planning photo timelines with my couples, I always say HECK YES!✨ . This is the final moment of your day when it all culminates right before the exit. This is your moment to reflect and let it sink in that you’re FREAKIN MARRIED!!! There is so much love and emotion here. The best part is, you get to experience it TOGETHER, to your favorite song, in the quiet, when everyone else is outside preparing for your exit. What perfect timing and energy! 🖤
