  • My word for this new year is GRACE.
•
Extending grace to friends and strangers is something I want to grow in over the next few months.
•
Goodness knows, I’ve needed to ask for grace from friends many times.
•
Grace let’s you grow. It’s freeing to be given grace. It puts wind under your wings. It relieves life’s pressures. And truly, is there anything more becoming on a woman than grace?

  • What happens when a child is too timid to take individual portraits?
•
I see it all the time and never want to frighten a child because chances are I will be photographing them again, and children remember.
•
But...mothers want individual portraits and I want each child to have them once they get older.
•
You can always set the children in a row and as they interact get close images of each one.
•
Use a telephoto lens so you can keep your distance and allow them to act natural.
•
Have the parents hold them and interact with them. These moments are some of my absolute favorite to photograph a child when they feel safe. Just keep your focal point on the child and you can even use a wide aperture to blur the rest of the subjects.
•
Never sacrifice capturing each child individually! 💗
