  • it’s been months since our last #fridayintroduction and we’re hoping to make these posts more of a regular occurrence on our feed to give our followers and clients a little more insight into who we are as a design studio and as individuals.

we’ve been working over the past few months with fellow creative entrepreneurs to reimagine the most authentic way to capture the current identity of our studio in light of the many changes 2020 has brought us. we’ve started to share a bit, but over the coming weeks we will begin to share more and are excited to start engaging our followers in the process.

i’ll start with a bit about me, Phoebe, the primary designer and creative director. i started this studio two years ago while designing my own wedding out of a one-bedroom apartment in hells kitchen. last december, we expanded our business, moving into a studio space in brooklyn. within three months of settling into our studio, new york (and the world at large) was totally flipped upside down. the time since then has not been easy, but it’s illuminated to us our strength and resilience and brought with it a new-found clarity and vision.

what unexpected challenges has this time brought up for you? [pc: @luba.photography_]

  • subtle details / neither elise nor cj thought they were monogram people (we’re not really either) but when they saw this crisp serif & playful hand drawn anthurium they quickly had a change of heart. this monogram made its way into many elements of their invitation suite & day of materials, but we personally love it here the most - a clean and quiet deboss on ivory cotton.

  • refined luxury design / embracing the word ‘luxury’ as part of our brand identity was something we as a studio fought because our brand isn’t something ornate, gold leafed, or encompassing many of the traditional markings of a luxury brand. however, again and again, speaking with clients and colleagues and revisiting our process, we have come to understand that we truly are a luxury brand and should market as such. from the materials we use, the process we practice, the artisans we collaborate with, and our personalized relationships we have with our clients, our work redefines luxury design.

more to come on this discussion, we’ll be sharing more of our process and more videos giving all a window in to who we are and how we work. stay tuned ✨

  • modern romantic / soft curves & tones, clean lines & typefaces, activated white space and an overall minimal aesthetic.

which romantic aesthetic do you prefer ? something more traditional and ornamented (floral illustrations, brocaded, gold) or something more minimal and modern ?
