  • I am shook! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So, remember that article that was going around this week about how some people don’t have an inner monologue? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Well, I found a video online where a guy interviews his girlfriend who he just found out doesn’t have an inner monologue and she divulges that she has aphantasia as well. Aphantasia is where you can’t visualize things. Like, when you try to picture them you can’t see them. And I realized I think I have aphantasia. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I try to visualize a person, place, or thing, I can’t see it. Like, I know that’s what I’m trying to picture but I can’t see it. I see black. I always thought when someone said to ‘visualize’ something they were saying it as a figure of speech. Apparently they weren’t? And people can actually visualize things? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 28 years and I had no clue this was a thing. Or that I very likely have it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So, what I want to know is who can actually truly see something when you try to visualize it, and who can’t?! Let me know in the comments below!
