• Interhouse Sport and Cross Country Afternoon
 
The end of Term 1 saw Tara Senior School come together for two massive Cross Country races and 14 sporting competitions including Cheerleading, Newcombe Ball, Netball, Soccer, Touch Football and Table Tennis!
 
It was all about having fun as Years 7-9 ran together and Years 10-12 ran together.
 
Staff and students enjoyed an afternoon filled with positive energy, teamwork and lots of merriment.
 
Tara’s wonder dog, Henry 🐾 was on hand to show his support and cheer from the sidelines.

  • Success flows for Sarah

Last week Tara Year 12 student Sarah had the wonderful opportunity to compete at the Australian National Rowing Championships held at Lake Barrington International Regatta Centre in Tasmania.

She had a very busy week racing for both Tara and her Club (UTS). 

Sarah won Bronze in the Schoolgirl Single Scull event and also took Bronze in the U19 Quadruple Scull.  She finished 5th in the A finals of both the U19 Single Scull and U19 Double Scull events.

In exciting news Sarah has just been selected into the NSW Interstate Schoolgirl Pathway Eight crew for 2021.  She will now compete against the other State crews from around the country at the Australian Underage Selection trials on 11 and 12 April at Sydney International Regatta Centre.

Congratulations Sarah, Tara is thrilled for you!

  • History High Achievers Award Night – Emily Hoare

Last night the History Teachers’ Association of NSW recognised Emily’s achievement by presenting her an Award for achieving 1st place - 2020 Generation to Generation Prize.

The ceremony held at the Chau Chak Wing Museum (the old Nicholson Museum) was hosted to honour the student high achievers of History 2020.

Emily’s entry in the 2020 HTANSW Extension History Essay Prize was on the topic of, To what extent does Jan Gross' history Neighbours legitimise the distortion of Poland's
WWII narrative within the nation’s collective memory?
