Wine of the Week Our 2017 Peninsula Pinot Noir This Pinot is a favourite for many, walking the middle ground between being fruit driven and more complex An easy to drink, share with your friends over the weekend wine Looking for food pairing ideas? Try a roast beetroot and goats cheese salad or Peking duck pancakes It's vegan friendly too👌
As the grapes begin to ripen and go through veraison, that means it's time for the nets to go on We're lucky to be in an area with beautiful wildlife but to protect our precious fruit from the birds, these nets are a must The tractor you can see here does 3 rows at a time, with some help from the sidelines 😉 . The nets can actually stretch to do 4 rows, but to provide extra protection for the fruit, we limit it to 3 to make it even more difficult for the local birds to reach our grapes.

Alexandria is a sommelier from Chicago. She left the USA to pursue the world of wine in Australia and has since been traveling avidly to understand all the Aussie wine regions. Well done Matt, grape cropping can be a lonely job! So why do we do this you may ask? In some vintages, such as this, crop levels can naturally be a little excessive and risk the dilution of flavour in the wines we produce. To counter this, we often crop bunches to ensure what’s left on the vines receives the maximum amount of nutrients and flavour concentration available. It may seem like a shame for these bunches to go to waste but this forms part of our eternal quest for quality over quantity.
“The course of true love never did run smooth.” Everyone loves a dramatic love story 😉 that's why A Midsummer Night's Dream' has been a much loved favourite for over 400 years Join us this Sunday, January 13, as Crittenden Estate transforms into the magical land of Athens.
