The artwork 'Sphere' which is a part of my series 'Black Sun' is finally available in my shop again. The series 'Black Sun' consists of works inspired by the nature phenomenon 'Sort sol' (Danish for 'Black sun'). 'Sort sol' is a nature phenomenon in the marshlands in southwestern Jutland, Denmark. 'Sort sol' takes place in the hours just after sunset where very large numbers of migrational starlings gather in large flocks and form huge formations in the sky just before they decide for a location to roost for the night 🌙 #kristinakrogh #serigraph #silkscreen #artprint #artwork #blacksun #kristinakroghstudio #artist

Close up of the SPHERE serigraphy made with golden ink on watercolor paper 🌝 Serigraph printing is one of the oldest methods of printmaking, with examples dating back to the Song Dynasty in China. The process involves creating a stencil of the artwork on a screen of porous mesh, traditionally made of silk. A roller is used to pull the ink over the stencil, forcing it through the silk onto the paper being printed.
