• There is no filter or camera that can capture the power of this place. When I was young, the population of #Washington was about half what it is now. On any given day, you could have the #cascades to yourself, #scavenge for #morels or #huckleberries, and #fish for trout... it was good medicine. Now, the #mountains have parking lots, and overdressed couples clad in REI everything drink wine out of plastic cups while taking #nofilter #selfies, superimposing themselves over the landscape as if they were some sort of pioneer. When you do this, you diminish the setting, the journey, and the importance of #nature. Nature isn’t something to be underestimated or gawked at they way you might look at a beautiful person. To truly know and appreciate it, you need to suffer through it’s tantrums and fits, and understand you might catch it feeling tame, but it’ll kill you the second you let your guard down. #isg #integratedskillsgroup
