Do you rest + recover as hard as you train? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Many times when I have convo’s with people about this, stretching/mobility/massage and other recovery modalities are not regularly included in their routine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s maybe included once in a while but not a part of their protocol. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What is part of the protocol? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Workout. Workout. Workout. Repeat. 🤯 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But your body needs to HEAL from everything you put it through in a workout. So that it becomes stronger. So that it doesn’t burnout. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not incorporating proper recovery can lead to imbalances, overcompensations and possibly injury. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And then what does injury mean? You don’t get to workout. No bueno. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here are a few of my favorite ways to recover... 🧘🏼♀️ yoga 💆🏼♀️ massage 💤 good sleep 🚶🏼♀️ walking 🤸🏼♀️ mobility targeted movements 🔥 sauna 🚿 cold shower (not necessarily a favorite 😅) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you focus on recovery daily/weekly? What’s one of your favorite ways to recover? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #workoutrecovery #yogarecovery #stretchandrecover #restandrecharge #restandrecovery #restandrestore #mobilitywork #mobilityflow #qualityoverquantity #strengthandconditioning

lets face it. change is hard. waiting for progress to happen...is harddd...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ and too often, we get frustrated when things aren't happening the way we think they are *supposed* OR as *quickly* as we want them to. 😪⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The changes you are working on making right now... do you want them to last? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My assumption is that you do.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For example, weight loss is a big one for people at this time of year. The gyms are usually packed (pre-covid) and/or everyone is doing a nutrition *reset* of some sort. 🍏⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But if you do lose weight/put on muscle/lean out (whatever it is that you want), I'm guessing that you don't want that to be a temporary change, right?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So if you don't want your changes to be temporary, you MUST change your temporary mindset. Meaning, the quick fix is NOT going to solve your probs🙅🏼♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In order to make changes, you have to BE the person and DO the things that someone who's accomplished those changes has. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BE - DO - HAVE ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ not... HAVE - DO - BE⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you want to be fit and healthy, you have to DO the things that a fit + healthy person would do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you want to be a musician, you have to DO the tasks that a musician would do.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Make sense?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ the second piece of this is where you currently are in this process. if you are someone who has never exercised a day in your life, well then your journey and timeline is going to look much different than someone who has been exercising for years. #comparisonstripsjoy⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And lastly I'll leave you with this...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ the transformations you make on the journey to making changes is the BEST part. you must do the hard stuff... you cannot skip it and expect the same results. 🏔⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #newyearsgoals #lastingchange #bedohave #innerwork #itstheclimb #dontrushchange #challengeyourself #healthgoals

Today feels like my "actual" new year start, how bout you?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I guess when New Years day falls on a Friday, it's a sure excuse not to get back on the grind until Monday, right?😅⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today I am doing some vision planning and mapping for 2021. I would have liked to have already started this in December but life happens and I decided to focus on friends and fam for the holidays (plus lots of studying)📚⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ so here we are... January 4th and I'm just getting started in planning. 💻⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💡 the reason I mention this is because there really is never that "perfect" time to plan or set goals.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ yes, a new year and a Monday is a great opportunity because the holidays are over and you've got motivation and momentum. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ but stats say that only about 8% of people actually achieve their new years resolution/goal and the rest fall off within about a month. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ have you every wondered why this is?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I believe it's because people focus too often on the outcome instead of the process/journey it takes to get a particular outcome. ⛰⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Im curious about you. Have you made a New Years resolution or goal? I would love to hear what it is if you're down to share👇🏼⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Or if you're thinking about a particular goal, do this next...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ask yourself ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 WHY this particular goal is so important to you?⠀ 🔸 What will it mean to achieve this goal?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 What will it mean if you don't?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 What do you need to do and who do you need to BE to achieve this goal?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's so important to get clear on these things first, because in order to achieve goals, growth and change needs to happen.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #goalsetting #visionboard #visionmapping #newyear2021 #goalsongoals #askwhy #bedohave

This is my delayed Christmas post because I’m not too great at posting ON Christmas Day nor do I seem to remember to get a family photo 🤦🏼♀️ I attribute this to being deeply in the present moment 😋 So I hope you all had a beautiful Christmas with your loved ones 💕 I made these chocolate peppermint truffles on Christmas Day and they turned out SO GOOD ✨ You must must make them if you have the chance! Quality ingredients, not a lot of sugar, tons of flavor 👌🏼 Here’s what ya need... 1.5 cups pitted dates 1/2 cup cacao powder 1/4 coconut oil (melted) 1 @hukitchen Crunchy mint chocolate bar Flakey sea salt Candy cane (crushed) 1. Soak the pitted dates in just boiled water for about 8-10 mins 2. Once soaked, drain the dates add them plus cacao powder and coconut oil to food processor and blend until it forms a dough like texture 3. Remove mixture into roughly teaspoon sized balls (don’t roll yet) and put in the freezer for 5-10 mins to set 4. Once set pull the balls out of freezer and roll in hands to make smooth. Set them on parchment paper. 5. Melt the chocolate bar in a saucepan until fully liquid (have a few @hukitchen dark chocolate gems on hand in case you need some extra chocolate) 6. Roll each ball into melted chocolate and set on parchment paper. Then sprinkle flakey sea salt and crushed candy cane quickly on before the chocolate dries! Set in freezer for 5-10 mins to set! Makes about 14-15 truffles. These suckers will melt in your mouth! 🤤 Keep a batch in the freezer for an easy low sugar satisfying treat. #chocolatetruffles #chocolatepeppermint #merrychristmas #christmastreat #holidaybaking #holidaytreats #candycanelane #flakeyseasalt #darkchocolates #lowsugardesserts #holidayseason2020

☆ Sunday muffin recipe ☆ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ these are such a yummy gluten free, real ingredient, non-boxed muffin option, I highlyyy recommend. 👌🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ thank @bromabakery for this delish recipe! no fluff here, let's cut to it... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2 ripe bananas (mashed) 🍌 2 large eggs, room temperature 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/4 cup honey 🍯 1/4 cup coconut oil (melted) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 1/3 cups GF oat flour* 2/3 cup GF old fashioned oats (not quick oats) 1 1/4 cups blueberries (I used @northwestwildfoods wild berry blend) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ *make your own oat flour by blending 1.5 cups old fashioned oats! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⇥ Preheat your oven to 400. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⇥ Line your muffin try with parchment paper liners. I found these cute silicone ones that I love using. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⇥ In a big bowl, combine mashed bananas, eggs, honey, coconut oil, vanilla extract, sea salt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⇥ TIP: do your melted coconut oil in 1/4 cup BEFORE the honey. Use the same measuring cup. The honey will slide out so easily and not stick to the sides. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⇥ Combine last steps ingredients well. Then add in your oat flour, oats and baking powder. Stir until blended well. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⇥ Fold in your berries ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⇥ Scoop batter into 12 muffin tins evenly. Bake for 5 minds @400, then 12 minutes @350. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let cool and enjoy! Happy Sunday! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #sundayrecipes #muffinrecipe #glutenfreemuffins #glutenfreerecipe #cleaningredients #breakfastrecipes #snackrecipes #nopreservativesadded #realingredients #homemadesnack #healthcoachlifestyle #healthcoachforwomen #healthcoacheats #nutritionistapproved #weekendeats #wholefoodrecipes #healthytreat #healthiseverything
