  • Who says you can’t have your family at your elopement?

I see a lot of posts that talk about wanting to include family or friends in an elopement. Or how to tell them you’re eloping?

Well, let me start by telling you this.

Your wedding day is all about you and your partner.

That’s truly all the matters. You don’t even need a photographer if you want to get down to it. Or a dress. Or a venue. Or a fancy officiant. You literally just need your partner, a marriage license, and someone at City Hall (or in Colorado not even that!)

But that’s not the point.

What I’m getting at is that we do many of the things at our weddings for other people. And that’s okay as long as it doesn’t interfere with what you really want.

So if you want to include your family and friends at your elopement try these things.

1. Give as much advance notice as possible. Travel can be costly for some and saving up to buy plane tickets and a stay will be appreciated.

2. Help them find travel arrangements or create an email list and email them when good deals pop up.

3. Choose a location that is accessible to all members attending. If your father doesn’t get around well or someone is in a chair, choose a spot that everyone can access.

4. If people cannot attend because of finances, health, or other reasons invest in the following things: good photography, videography, streaming services.

If you want more help on how to include your friends and family at your elopement, just ask me! I help all my elopement clients find travel, stays, even airfare and car rentals. Plus, I spend a lot of time scouting out locations online and in person when possible so we can have the best elopement day ever for you.

Isn’t this Las Vegas elopement so sweet? It was literally in the middle of the desert. Isn’t that cool?

  • Dreaming of a destination elopement? Save this post!

Destination elopements don’t have to be ultra scary. That’s why I made this easy to use guide for exactly what you can do to elope, the average cost, and how I serve you along the way!

Ask any of my past and current clients about their destination elopement experience. From providing an initial estimated quote, travel recommendations, and even reaching out to speak with local vendors, I’ll help you do it all.

But why? Why spend this time when my clients could easily do the work? Because I LOVE IT.

My love language of acts of service combined with my personality enneagram 3 has made me value providing the best and most holistic approach to simple destination elopement guidance.

Plus, I’m from a landlocked state. Why wouldn’t I go out of my way to help others go explore and adventure? Life is too damn short to be stuck in one place forever.

Go see the world. Marry your best friend and start a new adventure!

Check out these slides of how we help our clients plan their destination elopements!

  • Happiest first anniversary to these two.

Hunter and Allison have been so amazing to work with and know. Their kindness, eagerness, and all around love for one another made every time we got together so much fun!

Hunter and Allison got married outside, in January, by a gothi, wearing a gorgeous purple cloak and surrounded by their closest friends at their traditional Viking wedding ceremony.

Before the pandemic had even been thought of, these two were already keeping things intimate.

What I love about weddings is that no matter how you do them, you’re marrying your partner, your soulmate, your forever. So if you’re worried about a big budget, don’t be. All you need is love and an officiant. Everything else is bonus.

If you need any help planning, reach out to me and we will connect you with our Simple Wedding Planning course! It has been such a pleasure to get to work on it and now we want to share it with the world.

Happy Tuesday! Are you planning today or taking in all the chill Tuesday vibes?

  • This isn’t my wife!

This is actually my amazing partner photographer, Megan!

Megan joined the New Adventure team in 2020, early on, but I’d had some connection with her beforehand.

Megan originally met up with me in 2019 to talk about photography lighting and I shortly afterward asked her if she’d like to join the team.

I am so glad I did!

Megan has been such a blessing and wonderful addition to our team and truly made 2020 wonderful by helping me to further serve our clients.

Megan loves traveling and is married to a burning hunk of love, Anthony. they shared a sweet mixed family love wine, being outdoors, and hiking.

I am so grateful to have Megan and she has served so well with me.

Tomorrow, we will be at my favorite place, @newjourneyfarms to take part in their 2021 Virtual Wedding Show. We will be filmed sharing our 2021+ offerings and will be sharing some lovely images from NJF and some of our travels for engagements in the video.

Do you have someone in your life that makes it better that isn’t your partner? Tag them below and tell us about them!

  • Read if you’re concerned about your 2021 wedding.

We are in a new year and thankfully, seem to be much closer to getting to some resolutions for our future safety.

However, there are no promises when the vaccine will be available and if future locks downs will be in place.

Here are a few things you can do if you’re concerned about your date.

1. Talk with me about it. Let’s communicate and look at your date. I am someone who wants to always remain optimistic about a full scale gathering and big shebang of an event. But we can discuss options.

2. Be prepared to cut back on numbers. Preparing a secondary guest lists with fewer numbers is a good way to prepare for letting those people know that unfortunately, they won’t be able to attend. Draft up an email but there is no need to apologize. It is YOUR day and this is something no one has experienced.

3. If you’ve already rescheduled once or twice and JUST want to be married to your soulmate, consider a destination elopement. Having the opportunity to elope somewhere beautiful begins your new life together on a positive note and gives you the ability to take some control back from what has felt like a year where no one had the wheel. The best part about a destination elopement is that you can still have hold your original wedding date with everyone invited if there are no restrictions later on. But if there are and your reception requires another postponement, you’re already married and are living your best lives, the party was just put on hold for awhile.

These are three easy ways to work around the insecurity we are all facing this year.

Tonight, I’ll be speaking with @elliemckinneyphotography and @bigernproductionsdjs on @joinclubhouseapp to talk about some ways we as wedding vendors can serve our clients in the new 2021 “norm.”

If you have something you’d like to hear about on here, drop a comment below and we will address it tonight so I can share more tomorrow.

Much love!
