On our own, we conclude: there is not enough to go around we are going to run short of money of love of grades of publications of sex of beer of members of years of life we should seize the day seize our goods seize our neighbours goods because there is not enough to go around and in the midst of our perceived deficit you come you come giving bread in the wilderness you come giving children at the 11th hour you come giving homes to exiles you come giving futures to the shut down you come giving easter joy to the dead you come – fleshed in Jesus. and we watch while the blind receive their sight the lame walk the lepers are cleansed the deaf hear the dead are raised the poor dance and sing we watch and we take food we did not grow and life we did not invent and future that is gift and gift and gift and families and neighbours who sustain us when we did not deserve it. It dawns on us – late rather than soon- that you 'give food in due season you open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.' By your giving, break our cycles of imagined scarcity override our presumed deficits quiet our anxieties of lack transform our perceptual field to see the abundance… ...mercy upon mercy blessing upon blessing. Sink your generosity deep into our lives that your muchness may expose our false lack that endlessly receiving we may endlessly give so that the world may be made Easter new, without greedy lack, but only wonder, without coercive need but only love, without destructive greed but only praise without aggression and invasiveness…. all things Easter new….. all around us, toward us and by us all things Easter new. Finish your creation, in wonder, love, and praise. Amen.” -Walter Brueggemann #AllThingsEasterNew #EasterIsMoreThanAService #ResurrectedLiving
Our team operates as equippers and coaches, helping empower dreamers, creators and enjoyers of life to realize the potential of what God is doing in and around them to showcase His love in our city. In other words, we don't come up with all the ideas, but look to come alongside others who are ready to start something to change lives where they live, work and play. Sound like you? We'd love to hear from you! Click the link in our profile!
Our busied, hurried culture tells us that meaning is found in the endless cycle of keeping up. Often religion is one more voice in the chorus shouting at us to do more. Yet, our God invites the weary and the exhausted performance seekers to slow down and find rest in Him. Say goodbye to the blur and discover the freedom God offers you. Our tables are open so that you may be known, be seen, be heard, and to discover the beautiful life you’re missing out on. #SlowDown #FindLife
Last year, based on research done on Google searches, Greater Boston was named one of the “Loneliest Cities in America” (Facts&Trends). We’ve been created for community, which is why we major in availability. Open tables, open lives, open hearts for our neighborhoods. We believe God does his best work in the midst of shared life! #Waltham #WestNewton #Auburndale #LifeTogether
WHAT BURDEN HAS GOD PLACED IN YOU? The church is most beautiful when everyone is equipped and resourced to chase after the unique burden/dream God has deposited in them. At Renaissance we are all about empowering dreamers, creators and enjoyers of life to realize the potential of what God is doing in them to showcase the beauty of His love in our city. Have a God-sized burden in your heart? We’d love to chat with you! Message us or check out our website (link in profile). #ChurchUnleashed #Dream #Create #Enjoy

At Renaissance, we aren’t trying to build a kingdom. We are instead trying to learn to live in the one Jesus already inaugurated. Dallas Willard says, “The Gospel is less about how to get into the Kingdom of Heaven after you die, and more about how to live in the Kingdom of Heaven before you die.” So we invite you to our table to learn the beauty of this life alongside us. One of those tables is an experience we call Practicing the Way of Jesus. Find out more and RSVP at the link in our profile!
Practicing the Way of Jesus starts TWO WEEKS from today! The concept is simple - what if we actually practiced what Jesus taught about instead of just talking about it? This journey is about coming alongside others in a safe, authentic environment to explore faith and take some risks based off of Jesus' words. It's free and open to anyone! Register by clicking the link in our bio! #Waltham #Auburndale #WestNewton
We value dependency, drawing close to God, His word and others rather than going solo. We value creating a culture of belonging, extending grace and love to people of all backgrounds rather than excluding them. We value finding unity in the Gospel message rather than splintering over secondary issues. We value authenticity, being real about our joys and struggles rather than creating facades. We value practice, living out Jesus' teachings rather than making them theory we talk about. We value empowerment, creating a culture where everyone's diverse giftings matter rather than a hierarchy where people are called to uniformity. We value a slow pace, being rooted in relationships and locality rather than having a culture of performance and results. We value celebration, together experiencing the joy of what God is doing in us rather than criticizing our faults. We value generosity, helping people live simply and give freely rather than being slaves to materialism. We value humility, listening and praying first rather than always pushing an agenda. We are Renaissance!
We live in a unique cultural moment. Many of us are spiritual, but we're not religious. We're interested in God, but are over the church. We hunger for something real, but struggle to find it. That's why we're excited about Practicing the Way of Jesus. Journey with us in this learning lab as we look at the words of Jesus and attempt to simply give them a try. In the process, we'll see what we discover about ourselves and truth. It's free and open to anyone...no strings attached!
