French onion soup is a marriage of some of my favorite things: salt-forward flavor bombs, melty cheese, toasted bread, and deeply caramelized onions. It’s a bowl of happy that’s as comforting served to a dinner party or enjoyed solo. With all the rain and cloudy days here in Oakland, we devoured bowl after bowl sometimes with bread, sometimes not (like in the photo here). The hardest part about the soup is making sure you don't burn your mouth diving in too soon. :)
Don't you love how the chips look in this? Olive oil brownies with salted caramel crumbles recipe now on the blog! The hardest part about making these is waiting for them to cool before cutting into them but the wait is worth it for that view. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Link in bio or find it here: https://www.kitchenandaway.com/story/olive-oil-brownies-with-salted-caramel-crumbs
These olive oil brownies were inspired by Melisa Clark's amazing recipe and a jar salted caramel crumbles by Kitty Keller that Market Hall in Oakland tempted me to buy. These brownies, with a hint of salty caramel crumbs (or sea salt), are rich, thick, dense, and fudge-like. The salt balances the richness, making them addictive. You've been warned.
