Year 6 (Elder) were learning how to interpret comparison graphs in Maths. They were comparing which of the 3 mobile phone networks would suit different people based on how they use their mobiles. They worked together to solve problems and make their own observations.

In Year 6, our computing and science learning is very closely linked. Redwood class learned, in our first computing lesson of the term, how to programme crumbles. We first had to correctly construct a circuit to ensure that our code could be read by the crumble units.

Then, in Science, we have been honing our skills as electrical engineers. We have been accurately drawing circuits, using the universal language of circuitry symbols. We have some very bright sparks in Redwood

What better way to celebrate the end of term than a poetry recital! The children were fantastic performing confidently to the whole school.

Graham (our music teacher), Mrs Butler from the office and Miss Urquhart had a tough time choosing winners from Y3/4 and Y5/6. We are so proud of each and every one of the competitors! Thank you all.

What a fantastic Spring Term of sport... adding to a long season of boys' football and girls' netball, our children were all brilliant representing the school at different levels and different events.

Last February our school took part at the Sports Hall Indoor Athletics where we finished with an amazing overall first place for The Grove. Our girls did brilliantly with a second place and our boys have won their respective events.

Also in February our Y4 6T Cricket team had the amazing opportunity to take on a 6T cricket tournament. All children were amazing showing our 3 R's and adding on top of it a brilliant first place.

This March, more children had the opportunity to represent our school with our Y6 taking part in a Hockey Tournament. The weather was extremely kind to us! Our Aspire team finished the tournament undefeated and our Compete team finished the tournament with a very respectable second place after reaching the finals.

Lastly, this week our Y6 girls finally had the opportunity to play their postponed Tag Rugby festival. The weather wasn't very kind to us this time with cold winds making our bodies shiver but that didn't stop our resilient girls being brilliant and finishing the festival showing some great Tag Rugby.

The PE department would like to express their gratitude to all carers who help us to make all these opportunities possible.

The Spring Festival happened at the Eric Morecambe Centre last night and we were so proud of the children who performed! They have been rehearsing for weeks and learning a lot of lyrics too. It sounded absolutely fantastic! Thank you to all the staff and parents for making it happen.

The Groverneers are beginning their fundraising journey this year! We have decided to raise money for Helping Herts and we were visited by Josh to hear more about it. The children got some fundraising tips and shared their ideas. We look forward to hearing more about their fundraising by the end of the summer! @helpingherts
