@skewb_climate @rafyouthengage Year 5 had a fantastic Minecraft workshop this week, led by the RAF STEM team - using the engagement of Minecraft Education, children were able to build shelters with different purposes and new power source generators. Thank you for the experience Brendan and Susan!

We all enjoyed Maths Day today! We talked about our favourite numbers, we thought about how important maths is in the world outside school and enjoyed designing parks and skate parks whilst keeping to a budget.

The sun was shining for our PTA Fun Run today! Well done to all the children for taking part so enthusiastically. Lots of money has been raised for our PTA which always goes to new exciting things for our children to use across the Grove Schools @thegroveinfants

Year 5 had a fantastic visit from the Radlett Reform Synagogue. We learnt all about life as an orthodox and progressive Jew. We carried out some great activities exploring objects around a synagogue, learning how to write in Hebrew, making our own star of David and tasting some celebration (challah) bread, yum!

In Mulberry, we have been making short films in our Computing lessons. We created a storyboard and filmed our scenes. After some editing and reshoots we are really pleased with our final films.

Year 4 are currently hard at work designing and making coin purses. They have practiced 4 different stitches and are making an embroidered purse with a button fastening. Here we can see Magnolia class putting the finishing touches to their embroidered pattern of choice.

In Year 5, we have been learning about the Maya civilisation. Last week we found out all about the ancient Mesoamerican ballgame of Pok-a-Tok. The children created a page about the rules of the game and then we had a go playing it outside!

Year 4 Magnolia Class have been having fun with a class weekly ‘Writing Challenge’ set by their class teacher. Previous challenges have included designing and describing a mythical creature, diary entries retelling the Easter holidays and exploring writing play scripts. Keep up the great writing Magnolia!

Our Groverneers had a fantastic experience on Wednesday visiting the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. They conducted themselves beautifully walking, getting on the train and tube, as well as paying attention to their surroundings. During the tour, they asked fantastic questions about the House of Commons and the House of Lords. As a school, we are so proud of how they represented their classes. Well done Groverneers!
