• Happy first birthday Rowan!

It's hard to believe an entire year has gone by, but at the same time - it didn't take Rowan a year to impact the lives around him.

I've seen Rowan bring so much life to his parents, my best friends. He's brought our group closer together.

Your parents light up every time they talk about you, and your uncle is excited to see you grow up.

  • Started with some DM's now we here 💁

I'll always remember the moment I realized you were single, and how quickly I had to come up with an apology for ghosting you for a month hashtag oops 😅

From there, it took me a solid 3 or 4 months of chatting you up to convince you to take a flight risk (ba-dum, tss) - and hop on a plane 2500 miles away to spend a week with me.

I don't regret a single moment of it, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Our story so far has been filled intention, growth, joy, laughter and adventure - and I can't wait to see what else is in store for us.

Oh yeah, and a lot of bomb food and amazing music 👌

Shout out to @tminspired for the bomb photos of us in Seattle

  • Community > Competition - EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I really can't get over how much these two inspire me.

About a year and a half ago, when I really started to take couple's photography seriously - they let me practice some new posing techniques on them and we had an amazing sunrise session the day after Thanksgiving.

Ever since, I've been inspired by how kind and easy going they are.

Taylor (@tminspired) is an incredible photographer with a fast AS HECK work flow, and when I had a dang-near hard drive crash half way through a wedding season - she was there for me in an instant to help me talk it out and work through it.

Nathan (@nathanochoa) is a phenomenal videographer, and I'm ecstatic I'll get to work with him later this year.

Together, they inspire me to be a better friend, to listen unconditionally, and show up for my couples as my authentic self.

If you don't book me, check out Taylor and her work. Give them both a follow, and show 'em love.

They truly deserve it, and I'm just honored I get to call them my friends in the industry.

  • It's been a little while since I've shared my photography journey on here, so I figured what the heck, why not dive in?

A few years ago I went through a pretty rough breakup (don't worry, there's a happy ending) and found myself with a ton of time on my hands. I was bored of playing video games all the time, and knew I needed something that'd allow me to create some positivity in my life.

A few of my good friends throughout my life had always been photographers, and it was an idea I always enjoyed playing with. I talked to my mentor about it, prayed on it (along with some other ideas like carpentry or painting), and started chatting with my friends about starter gear.

One night, one of my best friends and I were chatting on the phone and he stopped me in my tracks. He told me he'd sell me an entire starter kit of his for $200 - he only used it for a few tattoos he had done, and otherwise it was untouched.

I called Daniel - THE photographer I knew and loved - and he told me to hang up the phone, and go buy that camera immediately.

Fast forward a few weeks, and the first time I took a photo I actually really liked, it gave me a profound sense of accomplishment.

I finally had something to give the world that I loved.

From there, it's been a full send. I knew I had to dive in and learn how I could make a living out of it. Every single weekend since then I've gone out with my camera, and every single time it's been a healing experience...

This journey has brought me so much joy, self acceptance, and truly restored my faith in myself and the rest of the world. My mentor frequently reminds me to thank God for the opportunities, and I'm always excited to.

And I just want more people to experience that. It's not just a photoshoot. It's a celebration of love and healing, and the world needs more of that.

The world needs your love, and it needs the beauty that you bring into it.

So when I seem passionate and caring about my couples, it's because I am. There's nothing I'd rather be doing than making sure they're taken care of.

If you've made it this far, let's have some fun with it. Tell me your favorite coffee order and I'll tell you why you're wrong 💁‍♂️😂
