How many parenting books have you read? ββ ββ Me: NONE πββ ββ I am a 7 on the enneagram so I LIVE for experiences and also for parenting experiments. I had a really really traumatic and rough childhood and hardly a parenting role model in my entire universe until I was in high school. ββ ββ While yes itβs sucked for child Jess, I think it kind of gives me a unique untouched wilderness of parenting to explore. ββ ββ We do this thing in our house called βfamily phrases.β Basically I make you a phrase, rhyme, motto or copy all things Daniel tiger says and apply them throughout our day. ββ ββ If you walked into our house at any night you would probably hear me yell something like; ββ ββ βA clean room means a clean mind.β ββ ββ Or; βthe cleaner your room the better you sleep.β ββ ββ Lincoln knows these phrases like a true champion child and Iβm convinced they are parenting gold...ββ ββ So tonight we are in his room chanting our clean room phrases and he turns to me and says; βI forgot something downstairs, Iβll be right back, you keep cleaning okay mom?β ββ ββ Ok sure kid...ββ ββ 10 minutes and a clean room later I yell down the stairs and he yells back; βI decided I want a dirty mind and I made this mess to prove it...β ββ ββ βοΈ kid ββ βοΈ mom ββ ββ Cool kid. Real cool. ββ ββ But for real, parenting is an adventure and Iβm dying to know what fun experiments youβve done with your kids π€·π»ββοΈ

Weβve been here 5 years and I still need to pinch myself some days βοΈ Whenever people say; βoh you can get a HUGE house somewhere else for pennies compared to living in California.β I always say; βyes because you will spend all of your time living INSIDE of it...β I grew up going to play dates in friends basements, hanging out in others living rooms. Sure, we went outside but more of my memories involve large indoor playrooms. So to me, this lifestyle is worth every missing square foot of home because we get every ounce of sunshine and every breath of beach air we could dream βοΈ If you could live anywhere in the US where would you chooseπ€·π»ββοΈ

I snuggled up next to Lincoln to say good night, his hand reached for mine as he told me he βalways wants to hold hands when heβs sleeping.β And then he prayed the sweetest prayer; βThanks Jesus for my cool shoes, thanks for nana and poppy coming to visit, I took awesome pictures today on mommyβs phone, do you like them?? And Jesus I love being a kid, itβs the best thing Iβve ever been!β π€£π Being a kid is really THE best and I think having kids reawakens that child in all of us again ππ» All photos compliments of the rising star photog: Lincoln

Want to know one of my ABSOLUTE favorite takes up so much time βtoysβ for kids of all ages? β β Anything and everything from @wiwiurka_toys specifically this climbing triangle and slide. β β We literally got rid of our coffee table because this climbing triangle was getting more use and I wonβt ever go back (until they are teenagers and canβt climb on this anymore π€£) β β Iβm actually planning a little outdoor patio play room renovation around our @wiwiurka_toys play stuff π β β I seriously LOVE these things so much Iβm even eyeing their double rocker which is HUGE and amazing and Nicks gonna flip his lid but agree itβs worth it π€£β β These are worth every penny and I have a 10% off code for you ππ»ππ»β β Use code: JESSICARICE10 to save some serious dollars and delight your children beyond compare!

Wilderness day 2 π Harper slept like the true angel baby she is π I woke up in the middle of the night to what i thought was a bear trying to get into the tent π» turns out it was Lincoln sleep crawling. He ended up taking over our bed and i slept in his midget size sleeping bag next to Dewey π We hiked, swam in the lake, rode bikes, got ice cream, ate way too much chili and made monkey bread over the fireπ

Our first family camping trip day one π No one napped on the way there, we were FILTHY in minutes, our camp site was basically the side of a hill, it took WAYYYY too long to set up camp, I forgot proper shoes for Harper and Lincolnβs face was covered in mosquito bites π€ͺ But every second was amazing. We roasted marshmallows over the fire, rode bikes for hours, played with glow sticks, climbed every rock in sight, ate hot dogs in the woods and discovered the magic of a lanternπ
