On my last trip to the desert, I had the pleasure of capturing this beautiful family before they headed off to baby’s ultrasound. Big brother was all smiles and so excited! He is going to be a wonderful big brother. I cannot wait to meet their new baby! . #palmsprings #babymakesfour #maternityphotography #annkeenphoto #palmspringsphotographer #destinationmaternityphotographer #windmills

Announcing this year’s featured images. Usually there is only one featured image per year but this year I decided I need to represent both northern and southern CA families. These images you will see on my site, journal, business cards and social media. . It is always such an honor to capture memories for families every year and to watch their families grow. I am so excited to see what this year brings! . #familyphotographer #laquinta #auburnca #annkeenphoto
On this day since I was 37 weeks pregnant with Rilynn we have gone down to the river to spend time together, pray, and reflect. When I was 37 weeks pregnant with Rilynn our life was a little all over the place. We had just moved, she thought about arriving at 36 weeks, we were in between homes, transitioning the boys to 3 different schools, and I was terrified about Rilynn’s delivery. So I headed to the one place that helped to calm me. I have always loved the river and with it so close it was where I headed. I spent time reflecting on the journey up until then, prayed, and just took in the time. I am sure people must have been a little worried watching a VERY pregnant woman hiking down to the river alone. Since then it has become a tradition. Every year on this day Ri and I head to the river. It is our place. In fact, this time when we were about halfway there, she noticed where we were going and was so excited. Only this time we brought Travis and Braydon. We had a great time. Rilynn and I stepped away and had our time together. We prayed and talked about random things. Then we met back up with Travis and B. We hiked through the rocks, Rilynn almost fell in the water, skipped rocks (or at least tried), listened to the rushing water, laughed, played, then went for frozen yogurt. It was a fun afternoon and the perfect way to reconnect before starting the week. We will have to do this more. All too often we find ourselves going through the motions and staying home instead of exploring the outdoors or doing something different. We are all so busy so often that once you are home you just don’t want to go anywhere else. But when we do take the time to stop and explore, we remember how refreshing and calming it can be. The last 4ish years have been nuts. Not just busy but overwhelming. This year I hope to have more intentional time with my family and friends, and to remember it is ok to not be busy all the time. #familytime #auburnca #spendtimenow #traditions #intentionalhome #reconnect
