This last month @reducereusesuze and I had three incredible guests on the @positivelygreenpodcast πŸŽ™
.
Episode 3️⃣8️⃣ (swipe➑️)we had @minakwilson on to share with her ancestors’ story, acknowledging and honoring a part of Black America’s farming legacy.🌾
.
Episode 3️⃣9️⃣ (swipe!➑️)we have on @malaryme - where we discuss biculturalism in gardening, community building, and home birth.🌱
.
Episode 4️⃣0️⃣ (swipe!➑️) we interview Curtis Lee, a youth program leader and community organizer who shares with us his harrowing story of loss, leadership, incarceration, and hope.🌲
.
These are must-listen episodes as we think about honoring Black legacy - not just for 28 days of the year - but year round. πŸ—“
.
It’s my hope that in sharing these stories, @reducereusesuze and I light a fire under your butt to be better accomplices, to seek out diverse stories, and deepen your understanding of what it means to be actively anti-racist.✊🏼

Hey guys it’s been a minute! While I haven’t been posting as frequently there’s still lots going on behind the scenes here.⛄️
.
February has held a lot of important deadlines for me so I’ve been busy planning, prepping, and networking.πŸ“š
.
First, I’ll be giving a presentation at the @mosesorganic conference this coming Saturday all about how to get your farm online affordably and efficiently. I’m honored to be able to speak and teachπŸ“‘
.
Second, the Cultivating Capital Course social media modules get released this coming Sunday. What a trip it has been updating those. I’m looking forward to being done!! πŸ’»
.
Third, finally getting the course update allows me to start planning mastermind meetings for course students. I have so many ideas and I’ve been organizing them like a madwoman.πŸ’‘
.
Fourth, the @positivelygreenpodcast has been at full speed ahead - interviews, editing, and scheduling guests. I really love where @reducereusesuze and I are taking this season of the show.πŸŽ™
.
Lastly, I’ve been networking with local restaurants and business owners to start selling eggs before we fulfill our CSA duties later this spring. I love meeting local business owners, but it has gobbled up a good amount of time.🍳
.
I will admit the cold snap really got my spirits down. Every winter I reach this point where it feels like spring will never come. I inevitably get super down on myself- and hide in my work. πŸ™ˆ
.
So this is my quick hello and update! I hope you are crawling out of your winter blues and forging ahead too. Spring always gets here eventually!🌷

On our latest episode of the @positivelygreenpodcast - Suzette @reducereusesuze and I speak with Mina Wilson, M.A. @MinakwilsonπŸŽ™
-
In this episode we discuss:
⏺Visiting and honoring the places of our ancestors
⏺Leaning on family - both immediate and extended- and recognizing the power of collective thinking over individual thinking
⏺Black legacy and recognizing the work and humanity of the enslaved as they built the wealth of our nation
⏺The distinction in language between β€œslaves” and β€œenslaved” and why it’s crucial when we talk about our history
⏺How we must recognize and dismantle the policies still in place that uphold racism in America
⏺How the construct of slavery is still present in modern America
⏺Allyship vs accompliceship
⏺When we talk about farming, why we must acknowledge and honor the enslaved
⏺How can land access and ownership can be a way forward for allyship and accompliceship
⏺How the mortgage industry truly started
⏺Cross generational conscious and why it’s crucial
.
Reflecting on the past year, the white-centric regenerative ag space has marginally grown in their understanding of these issues. As a white farmer, it is my hope that sharing these conversations and stories are a pathway to deeper understanding. ❀️
.

β€œIf we don’t acknowledge the truth individually and collectively - there is no hope for us” -Mina Wilson @minakwilson
