It was 2007, she 36 years old, going through a divorce for the second time, her dreams of “happily ever after” shattered again. Tarn Belton found herself as a single mum of three children, with no training or education in any particular profession, and no sustainable way to support her family. She was at the lowest point of her life; stripped of her confidence, fallen into a deep depression and forced to sell her family home. She knew she needed to pick herself up, if not for herself, for her children - she wanted to be an inspiration for them, not “some depressed defeated mess” - as she calls it. Tarn truly believes her next move saved her life. As a 36 year old, single mum, she applied to study a Bachelor of Nursing, graduating three years later. Then completed her Masters of Nursing and become a qualified Nurse Practitioner, specialising in anti-aging. She opened up her own Anti-aging clinic, beginning with 38 clients and growing it to over 800. We worked with this powerhouse to re-brand her business from “Injectable Beauty” to “The Phoenix Effect”; as a testimony to her story and her client’s transformations, “rising from the ashes” after their lowest points of their lives and reclaiming their confidence. We created the new messaging, new logo, website, photography, social media style kit, e-book and consulted on the clinic decor (SCROLL ▶️▶️▶️ and see more on Instagram Stories). I’ve always been incredibly self-conscious in front of a camera. The introvert in me felt uncomfortable and just plain awkward about what I looked like, my “weird” facial quirks and stiff body language, whenever a camera pointed my way. I knew it was a fear that I had to overcome and needed to develop a mindset and skills that allowed me to embrace it. As I’m an “all-in” person when I make a decision, I spent 7 years in front of a camera as a TV presenter (in what feels like a past life) - putting that fear to bed - that piece of metal has nothing on me! 😆 So when I see men or women who are incredibly nervous about getting their photo taken YET still decide to go through with it, I am in absolute admiration - Because. I. Get. It. It’s an incredibly vulnerable process, yet a liberating one when it’s overcome - especially when it’s done with people that you 100% trust. Charlie is one of those people. She is an introverted, logical, detail orientated being (with a wicked sense of humour). After 9 years of studying (including a PHD), she’s kick-started her career as a Manufacturing Specialist - responsible for establishing, maintaining and managing the international manufacturing programs of various radiopharmaceuticals (sheesh). What began with hands shaking and palms sweating transformed into a day of fun, laughter, freedom and ease. #WerkItGirl This is one of the many images from her personal branding shoot with us.
