  • Video Tip: How To Make A Wobbly Sub Bass

We're using @xferrecords Serum for this simple, yet effective bass that'll sound great in a DnB, garage or bass house track.

Step 1 - set both oscillators to a sine wave
Step 2 - detune Oscillator 2 down by one semitone
Step 3 - add some distortion for extra bite!

  • Delay Tip: Make time synced delay sound less rigid by nudging the timing by a few milliseconds!

If you set your delay time to sync with the BPM of your track, then you'll find that every delay repeat hits exactly on the grid, not only giving your delay a static sound, but also making each repeat clash with the other parts of your track that are rigidly quantised to the grid.

Instead, pick the BPM synced setting you like the best, then switch your delay into milliseconds mode and adjust the timing by 1-3ms. Your delay will still sound in time, but will have a more natural feel. 🎯
