  • 6 years ago, Ryan asked me to be his girlfriend. 👫 . I had just gotten home from living in Portugal for a year and a half and he flew to Georgia to visit me. We hadn’t seen each other in person in over 3 years and it felt like no time had passed and also like everything had changed for us. We went on a walk around my neighborhood, found this little park bench by a lake, and started talking about what the last three years of our life had looked like. I stood up on the bench. He stood up. I jumped into his arms. He spun me around and kissed me. And then he said, “I think this is kind of a given, but will you be my girlfriend?” 🥰 . The next night I told him I loved him (while I thought he might be asleep, because I was too nervous he wouldn’t say it back 🙈). The next night he told me he could see us getting married one day. 5 months later he proposed. And 3 1/2 months later we got married. 😜 . The last 6 years have been a zillion times different from anything I could’ve ever expected in all the best and worst ways, but we’ve grown together, learned together, grown up together, and loved together. It‘s had its moments where it felt like a fairytale and other where it felt like...the opposite 😂, but “no one writes songs about the ones that come easy.” ❤️ . #ourtravelpassport #otppresets #myhappyplace #lspace

  • If you’re anything like us, quarantine has probably been a bit of a challenge for your relationship. Between not being able to travel or go out to eat at our favorite restaurants combined with Ryan playing a LOT of video games (literally hadn’t played one in the last 5 years of marriage and now he plays every day🙈), we’ve had a lot of adjusting to do and it’s made us realize how important it is to constantly be working on our relationship. . Last night we were on a YouTube Live hosted by @mentimeter called The Lockdown Love Support. The Lockdown Love Support was a couples session with reowned relationships expert Vienna Pharaoh—@mindfulmft. We talked all about how our relationship has been affected by quarantine and she gave us so many useful tips on what we can do going forward to navigate unexpected situations. This is my favorite time of year in California because everything is in bloom and there are literally flowers everywhere—like even on the side of the highway. 😂 We drove past this house covered in flowers the other day and I fell in looove.
