On Tuesday, as part of their learning in Geography, the Year 2 children went on a trip to the seaside. They had a fantastic day searching for interesting pebbles, eating ice-creams, and paddling in the water with their friends. Back at school, they talked about the different human and physical geographical features they had seen at the beach.

This week, 6CS visited Southwark’s Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF).
They began the day in The Recycling Discovery Centre (RDC) which is an interactive indoor space. In the RDC, the children engaged with the mini Materials Recovery Facility and participated in a range of activities to learn about the recycling process.
They then went on a tour of the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). The MRF is one of the most advanced recycling facilities in Europe. All materials collected for recycling from homes across Southwark are processed at this plant before being sent off to manufacturers to turn the recycled raw materials into new products!
