Always exploring. The most recent trip was to the Oregon coast. America is beautiful and vast. Let us show you the beauties of the states! #foreignexchange #studyabroad #americathebeautiful #oregon #oregoncoast #exchangestudents #usa #travel #studenttravel #goabroad #growabroad
Flipping through old notebooks often leads to surprisingly poignant inspiration. After sending 20 recent students off into the world, I appreciate the reminder of what I hope to have achieved- the lighting of a fire in young minds. In our brief few weeks’ time, we dealt a lot with SPARK ⚡️ Now is the time for my students, and myself as well, to deal in SUPPORT. This takes the form of reflection, attention, perseverance, and integration. Each of you learned much about yourselves on your trip abroad. Now is the time to decide- what do you want to do with that information? How can you keep your English up in daily life? What do you want to continue learning? Who do you want to keep in touch with? What did this experience mean to you? Integration, actually, is the most important piece. More than the excitement of the trip, more than the photos, more than the memories. The “what now?” This is where true growth and transformation takes place. And a gentle reminder to ALL my past students- I am always here as a resource to you in your integration process. Feel free to reach out to ask questions, share experiences, or just keep in touch! Lovingly, Katie . . . #exploreasheville
This is how you build community right here. SO grateful for the work our local families put in to the last two weeks of programming, opening their hearts and homes and supporting our program and the next generation of Visions USA alumni. SO grateful for the willingness to show up and the open minds of this past group of students- you were an honor to lead and teach. Ever grateful that this is what I get to call “work”: fostering relationships, planting the seeds of linguistic and cultural diversity in young minds, and impacting lives! Until next time, Katie . . . #exploreasheville

Yay for baseball! Our tram had an amazing time watching the Asheville team @ashevilletourists win last night at McCormick field!! Students met Ted E Bear and even got to go on the field and compete. Thanks to everyone who came out!
