Happy Friday friends! The end of the week means it’s time for intros, so if you’re new around here, HI! I’m Amanda, a wedding & portrait photographer based in Maryland. Here’s a few facts about me that have absolutely nothing to do with my work: . 1. Turquoise is my neutral. 2. I’d rather get up early than stay up late. 3. Bright, fluffy flowers have my heart. Gimme all the peonies and bougainvillea! 4. I’d take a steak over chocolate... 5. But Mexican food is life. 6. Lilly Pulitzer, Kate Spade, Kendra Scott, and Jack Rogers are basically my uniform. 7. The pool is better than the beach, but a boat is better than anything. 8. I think picking crabs is disgusting (Maryland sacrilege, I know) but give me a crab cake or dip anytime! 9. I know absolutely nothing about wine and will opt for a cocktail every time. 10. I’m a huge introvert and always prefer deep conversations to small talk. . Do we have anything in common? If so, tell me which one!
It’s wedding week for @ailibailey718 and Tom, and we are SO excited!!! Their @rosemontmanor wedding is going to be a southern stunner for sure, with gorgeous manor views and pops of Aili’s favorite color, lavender, everywhere. . Saturday can’t come soon enough, but for now I’m reminiscing with a few faves from their engagement session this spring!
Pro tip for anyone that is wedding planning or might be soon: . If you don't already have all of your favorite vendors booked and you're considering 10/10/2020 as your wedding date, you should just go ahead and pick a different date. I could've booked 10/10/2020 ten times over by now, and it's still over a year out! . Meanwhile the rest of fall 2020 is fairly open 🤷🏼♀️ . If it were me, I’d opt for late October and take advantage of the gorgeous foliage, or mid-April for cherry blossom blooms! . What was most important to you when choosing your wedding date? Was it numbers of significance, a particular season or holiday, or totally random?
🎓CLASS OF 2020: registration for the AWP Senior Squad is officially OPEN! 🎓 . Squad members receive exclusive swag, opportunities for free shoots throughout the year, and so much more. . Cheers to the weekend! Tell ya what, after being on vacation all week, today felt more like a Monday than a Friday 🤦🏻♀️ but it’s all good because I was super productive! . We have absolutely zero commitments this weekend and I’m not mad about it one bit. In fact, I’m about to kick it off by doing something totally WILD: grocery shopping on a Friday night. Wooooo, getting crazy over here! . Tell me about your plans this evening! Are they totally un-glamorous like mine, or do you have something fun up your sleeve? Either way, I hope it’s a blast!
We’re sad to not be on vacation anymore, but man it feels good to be home! There’s nothing like walking through the front door after several days away. . What’s your favorite part of coming home from a trip? Mine is that first night sleeping in your own bed, for sure!
I may be on vacation this week, but there’s no way that was going to stop me from sharing Emily & Bobby’s wedding day with you! Their day was an absolute dream, and the images are WAY too gorgeous to keep to myself for another minute. . Emily & Bobby are the sweetest people that love their friends and family deeply, and it showed through in every part of their day. But best of all, that feeling is DEFINITELY mutual! The entire wedding party was so much fun and great sports even in the hot weather, and family went above and beyond to perfect every little detail of their day. . Scoot on over to the blog for so much more pretty from their wedding day!
Oh my goodness y’all, this is just the tip of the iceberg of all the pretty I have to share from Emily and Bobby’s wedding day! Despite the July heat, we were smiles all day long. These two are both such sweet souls, it’s easy to see why their friends and family love them so much! . Keep an eye on the blog for a full recap on Wednesday, but until then, congratulations Emily & Bobby! We love you!!!
Emily and Bobby are getting MARRIED tomorrow! Every time we meet there’s a torrential downpour - including during their downtown Charleston engagement session! Luckily it seems like all that good weather karma has added up, because there’s literally only a 1% chance of rain! . While these two have earned sunny skies, they could seriously handle anything that comes their way with grace and a laugh. I’m going to have a hard time getting to sleep tonight because I’m so excited for their big day! . See ya soon, @emjones17 - no umbrellas required! 🎉
