While anxiety and stress are natural responses to the unknowns of pregnancy, parenting and life, constantly hanging out in fight, flight or freeze mode isn't good for anyone. LEMON POPPYSEED MUFFINS (paleo & nut-free). When I was a kiddo, I LOVED (yes, all caps, LOVED) the giant poppyseed muffins from Costco. You know the ones that are as big as your head? Yeah you know what I'm talking about. Well we’ve brought a grain-free version of these tasty muffins to life with the help of dreamy tahini and a lot of lemon the brighten up the party. These muffins are incredibly easy to make with the help of a high-speed blender or food processor to achieve a silky smooth batter. Well, the rain may be back for a minute, but the last two weeks of relentless sun makes me think we are in for a very sweaty summer. Getting unfiltered sun exposure is vital for Vitamin D production, immune function, mood, and more, but if you're playing outside for more than 20 minutes at a time, it's equally important to protect your skin. (PS It's melanoma awareness month!) Heading out for an adventure? 😎 Grab those sunglasses and a big floppy hat. 🏖 Spot the shade. Take breaks from direct exposure every 20 minutes or so. 🌞 Slather on some safe sunscreen. Ditch the chemical concoctions like oxybenzone. It's a shit show for our health and for the planet. Opt for physical sunscreens with non-nano zinc oxide. They are safe and work immediately (no 20 minutes to soak in!) My favorite for the little babes is ThinkBaby.
