Meet Ammo, a 6-month-old German Shepherd with the RCMP, already hard at work training to become a future police dog! Accompanied by his incredible handler, Corporal Britteny George, Ammo stopped by the airport to say hello—and soak up all the attention (which he handled like a total pro).

While he’s still in his “highly sociable puppy” phase, Ammo will soon be heading off for more rigorous training… so we feel pretty lucky to have caught another glimpse of him during these early days 🐶✨

✈️ A Little Extra Shine on the Runway at YXC this past weekend ✨

We had a few executive jets touching down at YXC, and while it’s not unheard of… it’s also not something we see every day here in Cranbrook.

Naturally, it makes us wonder — are there a few celebrities sneaking into the beautiful Kootenay Rockies for some fresh mountain air and a little peace and quiet? 👀 Not all our secrets are best kept, and that’s okay with us!

Maybe we’ll never know… but one thing’s for sure: those jets sure are pretty when they roll down our runway. 🤩

Around the office at YXC, we’re lucky to know Tristen not only as a dedicated manager, but as someone whose determination, humility, and relentless work ethic show up in everything he does—on and off the bike.

Tristen has never been one to self-promote. In fact, you’re far more likely to hear about his accomplishments from others than from him. But that quiet humility makes achievements like this all the more impressive.

From world stages to Western Canadian podiums, his accomplishments remind us what’s possible with grit, discipline, and heart.

Well… we knew it couldn’t last. 🤷‍♀️

Those glorious bluebird days were a sweet little farewell to our unseasonably warm, snowless January and February.

And now? Winter has officially clocked in across the Kootenays. ❄️

Love it or loathe it, she’s here — bringing snow-covered peaks (skier’s, delight!), slick highways, and that familiar mountain chill.

A friendly reminder to travel safe out there. Slow down, leave extra space, and if you’re flying out of YXC, please give yourself plenty of time to get here. Winter roads can be unpredictable, but your plans don’t have to be.
