May my roots dig Deep into the earth To every ancestor May I soak up their Wisdom Tell me who are you Where are you from To where did you end up Teach me Guide me I am home • Just after practicing yoga I read @beautymarkings latest post on what this season holds and returning to our roots. I couldn’t help but miss my nana and wonder of all those who came before me. So I continued my practice by meditating on these words. On my roots. Go dig yours deep. • She is now my soil My nourishment My breath ✨
The other night I allowed fear to over take me for a brief moment. What if while I sleep my house is burned down? What if while I sleep my family or friends are harmed? What if while I sleep, I am shot? I really allowed myself to sit in those fears just to have a glimpse of the fears people of color have lived with. This pose reminds me of a scale of justice. May we finally see justice. May we finally have a system that supports its people. May we finally see integrity flow. May we finally love one another above all. I’ll tell you what freedom is to me, no fear. • Nina Simone
George Floyd. Let’s breathe together for him tomorrow. My Sunday class is typically yin flow, however, tomorrow we will sit still and breathe deep. People of color, there is no charge. Simply come. Be. Breathe. 🙏🏻 4:30pm

At first, social distancing and “quarantining” felt like an extended vacay to me. Deep down I enjoyed having to stay home, catch up on reading, having no agenda, deadlines or places to be or people I had to see. Today, the reality of work and income being put on hold set in. I didn’t like it and didn’t know what I could do about it. I kept hearing “everyone else is laid off too. you didn’t plan well enough for this, Eva. you haven’t tried hard enough.” I told y’all, this pandemic is some real work on the root chakra. So I had my moment of pity and doubt and picked myself up. Enjoy the rest you are receiving. Come back to yourself. What do you want and what can you offer the world? Let’s reset. Just to come back stronger. Say it with me: I am living an abundant life. I am financially secure. I deserve success. I release my doubts and fears. ✨
•yoga is more than contorting your body into pretty poses• want to boost your immune system? practice yoga asana(poses) regularly. When you contract & stretch muscles, move organs around & come in and out of yoga postures you increase the drainage of lymph (a viscous fluid rich in immune cells). this helps the lymphatic system fight infection, destroy cancerous cells & dispose of toxic waste products of cellular functioning. @yogajournal
If you wanna be “so set” like Raven on your wedding day, I got your back- and your face. 😉 been excited to share this cute little BTS footage that @heartstringscreativecompany captured.
