Black Lives Matter. On #blackoutuesday it is important to amplify black voices and stand in solidarity in the fight for justice. We will remain open 11-3pm through Saturday for book pick ups and orders, but we will refrain from posting on our grid (we will continue to post anti-racist books and resources in our story). We will be donating a portion of our profits from this week to @caarprnow (more info on this to come!) • Another note- we’ve loved seeing the shift in our orders this week to books on re-education and anti-racism. Because of this flux, many titles like THE NEW JIM CROW, HOW TO BE AN ANTIRACIST, & WHITE FRAGILITY are currently back ordered until the end of next week. In addition, our scheduled orders are delayed due to route closures. But, your books are on there way and we will contact you when they are in store! While you wait, we encourage you to donate to organizations like @caarprnow & @blmchi and help out in your community. Stay safe and look out for one another.
⬇️⬇️UPDATES BELOW! ⬇️⬇️ • As we approach Phase 3, we are thoughtfully considering what reopening means for City Lit. While we don't feel comfortable reopening our doors for browsing at the moment, we are updating and expanding our curbside pickup services! Starting today, customers will be able to order books for curbside pick up that are not currently in stock. This option is available over the phone (773-235-2523) within our store hours (11 AM - 3 PM) OR through the Curbside Pickup choice on our website 24/7! Delivery is still available through our website via UPS Ground shipping. While USPS Media Mail is no longer available, we've lowered the price of UPS shipping. If you have ordered a book though media mail and it hasn't gotten to you yet, the USPS has been experiencing significant delays and we appreciate your patience! Thank you for your continued support as we move towards a new normal. We are eager to reopen, but only when it feels safe for our staff and customers to do so. Until then, we rejoice in seeing your faces curbside and at our online events! Pictured above are some of John Warner’s book recommendations from our Biblioracle event last night. All of John’s picks are 10% off this week!
