  • I was driving the other day and my oldest daughter says “everything is just so beautiful - their garden, the blooms, the green leaves...must be all the rain we’ve gotten.” These little metaphors for life tend to hit me like a ton of bricks. There is no bloom without rain, no diamond with pressure, no light without darkness. May this be your Sunday evening reminder that you can do and get through anything sweet friends. Ps. The lovely accidental or unintentional images are like the magical icing on top of my favorite cake. ✨

  • Her road to motherhood wasn't the easiest - matter of fact it was pretty bumpy with lots of twists and turns along the way. And now here she stands holding sweet Amelia Rose, an answer to the most fervent of prayers. What a testimony of faithfulness. I've only known her for a short while but I could tell right away she was made to be a mother. God is so good.

  • ‘Twas the night of my first e-sesh of the season and it’s still so anticipated & exciting! Year after year, couple after couple - this job I get to do never gets old, stale or boring. My love of third wheeling & inappropriate jokes reigns on and I can think of nothing else I’d rather do than pull all the real belly laughs & tender kisses out of these love birds. I mean, 82 years old running (or wheel chairing?) backwards through a field of wildflowers sounds like the kind of life that I want to life y’all. #geriatricphotographer

This part of my job is the most rewarding because surely the day to day isn’t easy nor beautiful yet the photographs we make are. Our job never ends from wiping up spilled oatmeal and chauffeuring the tiny humans all over creation to the morning sickness and pea sized bladder that comes with growing those above mentioned humans but having dreamy pictures of you with the ones you love most is the greatest treasure. To revel at the sweet memories that line your hallways as you’re on your way to do the umpteenth load of laundry today - those photographs of you with your littles bring all the joy & gratefulness to the surface. Show them that you were there too. 💕

You see, in a world where getting older isn’t ideal, I feel blessed to have the opportunity to continue growing in so many ways and experience all the beauty that God has in store for me. While I may have more grey hairs (those pesky intruders won’t quit!) and less collagen then March 6, 2018 - I’m even richer in love, experiences and accomplishments from another trip around the sun. I made a promise to myself years ago that I’ll always welcome birthdays with open arms and a grateful heart (+ always share my real age!) because not only have I lived so much life these last 26 years, each year special and important no matter the events, but I have the rest of my days with my favorite humans to look forward to and that my friends, makes getting older so special to me. Happy birthday to the girl in mirror - I love you more everyday. You’re special and beautiful and worthy of all that your precious life has to offer 💕 Here’s to year 27!
