  • In the wake of the COVID-19 crisis and the restrictions on travel, our procurement team which typically buys produce from farmers that are in remote locations and spread across states, had a challenge on their hands. ⁣
However, with the support and help of our FPO partners on the field, we were successfully able to procure from most of the FPOs that we had committed to. We were not only able to give the farmers a price higher than the local mandi at the village level but were also able to send the payments to the farmers’ accounts all in the matter of one week. ⁣

The above picture was taken during of our mung dal procurement from our partner farmers at Lilothri Farmer Producer Company in the Narmada district, Gujarat. ⁣

  • The food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from nature.

In these exceptional circumstances nature is sending us a message:
To care for ourselves we must care for nature.
It’s time to wake up. To take notice. To raise our voices.
It’s time to build back better for people and the planet.
This world environment day, it’s time for nature. 🌳

While farmers and governments have turned to gallons of chemical pesticides to help solve the problem, research has shown that there are naturally occurring repellants like neem which could help protect fields from these attacks.
