I’m a recovering people-pleaser and perfectionist, so I GET IT! I wanted to love myself so badly. I wanted to stop my negative self-talk. I wanted to be confident. But with every action step I took, I had a little voice in my head that would say, “Why try? You know you’ll just fail.” That little voice was fear of not being perfect. Fear of failure. The BIGGEST lesson I’ve learned: If you do everything with the expectation of perfection, you’re going to procrastinate, you’re going to get less done, and you’re not going to prioritize what you want in life! Perfectionism isn’t serving you. Trying to do things “perfectly” is hurting you. It’s all about being open to failing, falling on your face, and finding acceptance in your mistakes. That’s how you learn and grow! I know what it’s like to be passionate about your goals, but to hold yourself back because “it isn’t the perfect time” or “it isn’t the right time.” But the truth is, it’s never going to be the “right” time! Stop allowing your desire for perfection to keep you from taking MESSY ACTION! You don’t expect others to be perfect, so why do you put that pressure on yourself?! You have two choices. You can wait for the “perfect time,” or you can do something to create what you want for your life TODAY. Ask yourself, “Right now, what is one action step I can take that I’ve been holding myself back from doing out of fear?” Throw perfection out the window! Focus on progress one step at a time! That is a message I live by. The true path to success is not perfect. Focus on progress, not perfection. There will be failure. Your life is possible. Now you just have to go after it. Take some messy action! We have ZERO plan here in Florida, but what I teach to my clients is how to still stick to your goals+routine even when you’re going with the flow. 🙋🏽♀️ I don’t do well with strict plans so I won’t live my life that way and I won’t allow my clients to stay stuck in that mindset either!! Last year I almost quit coaching…I was dealing with a lot of things in my life and felt like I wasn’t good enough to continue with this dream of mine. BCB is what kept me going. I was sick of seeing women get screwed over by “coaches” who were unqualified, spewing lies, and causing long term mental + physical damage to their clients… Last week in my challenge I talked about how important it is to KNOW YOUR WHY when working towards your goals + confidence. SO today, the day before BCB Enrollment Opens, I wanted to be SUPER honest with you and share WHY I created Body Confident Blueprint. Because the WHY matters… As a trainer in a gym, a lot of women would come to me asking my opinion about this juice cleanse they wanted to try, or beach body slim quick HIIT workouts they thought they should be doing to lose weight. And as much as I tried to support them with their goals, I’d see them leave and get coerced into trying some new diet because the promise of a quick fix was more attractive than taking time to look beyond just the physical. When I created BCB, I wanted to help women feel confident in their skin. And the majority of your confidence has to do with mindset + habits. I knew they needed to invest time to really identify their why for creating change or they’d get caught in the hype of diet culture. I had an old coach tell me I wouldn’t be able to sell this program because “no one wants to invest in their mindset” And their advice? “get as fit as possible” then sell Ebooks. F*CK THAT. I care a LOT more about your continued progress 20 years from now than I do about what you can achieve within some 30day beach body challenge. You deserve to be a long-term investment. You deserve to become so connected to yourself you can feel confident in your skin during ALL chapters of your life. The truth is your body WILL change. Whether you gain weight, lose it, get pregnant, get stronger, start to wrinkle- change is inevitable. However you only have ONE BODY and your body hears everything you say. Feeling hella grateful for my husband today☺️ 🎓SO damn proud of him for all he’s accomplished. Not only in his PA School program, but also in the past 12 years of being with him I’ve seen him grow into the man I knew God has created him to be. Today I wanted to take time to brag on my man because eventho he isn’t into sOciAL mEdiA LIFE… HE has always been my biggest supporter. When Tom got accepted into PA school 2 1/2 years ago (on my bday actually!) I made the decision to quit my job with a company I loved and move with him to a small town I’d never heard of… The first MONTH we moved to this town I asked him if he’d be open to me going ALL IN with my coaching business and NOT working a part-time job…. And HE said YES…without hesitation. HE believed in me and that was a HUGE part of what helped me never give up. BIGGEST.SUPPORTER.EVER And he knows I SUPPORT HIM with his dreams 111% and will continue to always #wifeyforlifey Even on our hardest days when we both wanted to QUIT our dreams…we still kept going because we knew we were not in this alone. Sometimes even if you 𝘥𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘵 yourself and 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦 your timeline to others it's important to remember you are EXACTLY where you're supposed to be. Continue to be patient and open to uncomfortable growth. Lean into that discomfort. Your dreams are worth it. Also, I want to thank all of our friends and family who have be so kind + supportive during these crazy years. 💙Family + friends who housed us during his PA school rotations, sent encouragement during his exams, etc. Thank you SO MUCH (you know who you are!) I felt like an imposter. Who am I to coach these women? I don’t have a six pack. I eat ice cream and drink champagne on the regular. For so long I tried to talk myself out of being a Coach. I’d say I needed to WAIT… •Wait until I was more fit •Wait until I had more time •Wait until I had more experience •Wait until I felt more confident 💫But I wasn’t going to magically wake up and feel READY. You don’t just start out confident, You have to start showing up for you. ...and that’s exactly what I did. Almost 6 years since starting my online Coaching Business and I have been showing up for myself + my clients again and again. Even on the days self-doubt would try and wiggle it’s way back into my life... I kept showing up. NOW - I teach women the importance of showing up for themselves even if they don’t feel “ready” or “qualified” or “worthy” of prioritizing their needs. I show women that the ONLY way to create confidence is to keep showing up. •Even when it’s hard. •Even when you have doubts. •Even when you are afraid. Life is not about only showing up when things are PERFECT. The media focusing so heavily on the weight gain or loss of a celebrity or actor causes us to solely see our worth in our size. ⚠️ 𝐏𝐒𝐀: 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐬. And the media is not a doctor. They literally are just exploiting the insecurities of women for profit. The surface judgments the media makes are ignorant and so often based on 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘢. So many female entrepreneurs talk about lifting other women up, but very few actually do. (Zoom in on my face in the last pic for a good laugh😅) This year I made the promise to myself of being even more intentional in everything that I do. I’ve been refocusing on my day-to-day habits, checking in to make sure everything I do is ultimately supporting my highest self. I had to take time for me last year. And honestly kept to myself more than ever. *friends I appreciate you for understanding + giving me space AND support that I needed😘 Now, I’ve been refocusing in relationships. And even though I am busier than ever in my business as we continue to grow, I’m intentional about actually picking up the phone... instead of just texting “miss you!” REALLY putting intention behind fostering friendships. I’m old school and LOVE to talk on the phone👵🏼 🌵Courtney is one of the women I first connected with on my coaching journey and has been there supporting me every day since! I know what it’s like to struggle every day with your body because I never felt like I was the “right” size. I remember this time of year was always “shredding season” I was FINALLY going to lose the weight and feel hot + confident in a bikini. The truth is, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐑 than I am now I was actually 𝘓𝘌𝘚𝘚 𝘊𝘖𝘕𝘍𝘐𝘋𝘌𝘕𝘛 and 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬.😔 🌸Instead of making yourself miserable this spring, try shifting your focus to what a 🔥BADASS B*TCH you already are!! I tell my clients this all the time - 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐃𝐎. 💔SO many clients will come to me having LOST weight in the past, but then realize they were still MISERABLE and not happy with their bodies. ...I used to be exactly the same. I know what it’s like to feel burnt out from spending YEARS trying to “get smaller” because I thought that was the only way I would feel confident in my skin. Growing up, I tried diet after diet + would always end up quitting 4-6 weeks in & would get so upset. I felt guilty➡️ which led me to constantly feel negative towards myself and my body. 🌸Spring would come. 📝I would make a list of ‘RULES’ to follow ❌foods I could/couldn't eat 🥺and was SUPER strict about it all. ...I called it discipline, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐑, 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 (will speak on this topic more this May) ⬆️ This is why I became a Coach and created Body Confident Blueprint ⬇️ TO show you, you CAN feel confident in your skin NOW and still be working towards change! 🔥You get to CHOOSE your hot girl summer. STOP 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄 focused on who you “SHOULD” be. Start spending your life living as who you’re CREATED to be. Doing what I ‘should’ * went to college * got a stable job * focus at the gym: get smaller working out 2x/day * felt like I was never enough Only doing what feels aligned * Quit my ‘stable’ job * Stopped working out to LOSE + focused on lifting to GAIN * Felt more confident in my skin than ever before * Stopped giving a f*ck what other people think When I was in college I thought THAT was the answer. I thought that degree meant I’d be happy + successful. But in reality I graduated and I didn’t feel any of that. I felt lost. Then I decided if I didn’t want to work in a gym for 12+ hours a day for someone else…I needed to do something about it. 2016 I started my coaching business. I started out SO afraid of being judged by friends from highschool, so I hid a lot my true self. I focused on how I ‘should’ be showing up online as a fitness coach. And I quickly felt lost again. Doing things out of fear will never end with you feeling confident in yourself. The TRUTH is, no matter WHAT you choose to do with your body, your career, your life you will ALWAYS be “too much” or “not enough” for someone. In BCB, my clients realize the “WEIGHT” they’ve been holding onto is not purely physical, there’s an emotional burden we carry every day we continue to allow other’s opinions to hold us down. THAT weight has to come off FIRST. Before any REAL lifestyle change can happen. QUESTION- What would you do if you woke up + stopped doing what you ‘should’ do + started living life unapologetically? I LET GO of the weight. I was SET FREE from the fear of judgment. I realized, in the end, the ones who MATTER will support me and the ones who don’t, won’t. And that is OKAY. I no longer approach life out of fear. I approach life with love + compassion for myself and others. 🙋🏽♀️ My goal as a coach is to help my clients stop doing sh*t just because they feel they “should” + start doing the things that 🔥 THEM UP. I freaking love what I do!
