Here’s another isolation movement we like to include as accessory work (hint, hint… they make a great pair with some DB Shoulder Presses). Tricep Kickbacks are a great exercise to fight those dreaded bat wings or to add some size to your arms. Just like with curls, proper form is the key to getting the most out of this exercise. Unfortunately, we tend to see these executed with less than ideal form like the “Wrong Eric” (on the left). This can lead to injury, subpar results, wasted time, and more. Common Mistakes We See: - Posture too upright - Unbalanced stance - Limited range of motion (ROM) Don’t be a “Wrong Eric” and follow the “Right Eric” (pun intended) to get the most burn out of your kickbacks. Keep the elbows tucked in and up, maintain enough forward bend (use of a bench or something to lean on can help if you have low back issues), and ensure you’re putting the weight through a full ROM to feel the burn!
