🌺 Guess the country of the beach and the city in pic two 😁🏖️ 🌺 Are you a beach or a city person? Or a nice mix of both?
Where's next on your #bucketlist? #machupicchu was on mine for years and finally got to see it on my last South America trip :) #travel
🌺 Have you been to #Brazil? I'm going next month, any suggestions where to visit? 🌺 This pic was from the last time I was in South America in the Amazon Jungle, though out of #Bolivia - amazing country.
We have 100s of these #hornseapottery planters than my mum used to collect. Finally, found something to do with them :)
🌺 What's your favourite thing to take photos of? (your face doesn't count 😂). For me it's either flowers 💐 or butterflies 🦋
🌺 Which is your favourite season and why? 🌺 A crisp blue sky on a winter's day, when I'm all wrapped up warm, is one of my favourite things.
Time to start thinking about holidays (though I'm never not haha). Where you thinking of going this year? This pic is from Raja Ampat, my first trip of last year. My first this is 6 weeks away, off to Brazil 🇧🇷 very exciting.
My big puppy dog Amber, excited for her very first Christmas #goldenretrieverpuppy
#sundaystory - I've been writing about travel now for 15 years and if I don't fall asleep at the wheel (up at 3am today to fly), I'll hopefully reach my 80th country today 🎉 In that time, I've been stoned off a desert 🏜 island 🏝 evicted from a country and washed out to sea. As its Christmas, one of my favourite Xmas stories was that time we woke up on a celebrity detox island. I say, 'woke up' like we'd been kidnapped, but it was our choice 😁 We were on an island called Palawan. One of the 7000 islands that make up the Philippines. It took a ten hour bumpy bus ride, surrounded by boxes of dried fish, to get to El Nido at the end of the island. El Nido has some of the best beaches in the world and seemed a fun place to head for and Alex wanted to do his #PADI advanced course here. There was only electricity in the town from 6pm till 10pm (this was before smart phones so don't worry I didn't have to kill myself cos I had no phone charge). The first night, heading back to the hut we'd rented on the beach, we passed the local police 🚨 Xmas party. In a big wooden garage they had a karaoke 🎤 machine, a generator to power all the singing and endless amounts of rum. (Rum was cheaper to buy than bottles of water when we were there.) It seemed only right that we sang and danced with them til dawn 😂 When we made it out to get food the next day, we saw a sign in a restaurant window exchanging food for help with web design. As I'm good with both those things we offered the Owner our skills. The eccentric 50-something woman, who only ate raw food off banana leaves, had spent 17 years, slowly going insane (if you ask me), running a resort on her own island where celebs came to lose weight. 'I've spent 20 years making sure I'm free of worms' and 'Can you help me build a website to attract men to my island.' - just some of the things she said that have the insane vibe 🙄🏜️ After building a website on Xmas eve, we spent Xmas morning on her island. We hastily left as raw papaya salad didn't cut it on Xmas day. We found a place that made us a roast chicken and ate it with the sea lapping around our feet. Ask to find out more as I've run out of characters on Insta 😂
