Free! Radon Test Kits on October 1st!
Clay County Public Health in partnership with The Healthy Hometowns Grant and Marion County Public Health are currently offering free radon test kits to Clay County homeowners. Homeowners and landlords may participate and receive a test kit for their property. Stop by the library between 2-3 PM on 10/1 to pick up a kit, ask questions, and receive guidance on how to complete the testing process. In addition, this grant may include financial help for radon mitigation if you qualify.
Free to all Clay County homeowners and landlords.

A huge thank-you to Jon Hartwig of Utopia Grove for donating this incredible ½-scale replica of the Wankel T. rex skull to Spencer Public Library!
The original T. rex was discovered in Montana in 1988, and its skull measures more than five feet long. Jon recreated it from a digital 3D scan, printing it in two pieces on an industrial-sized 3D printer. The project took more than nine days of print time and about 5 kg of material.
The original specimen now resides at the Smithsonian. Its slightly smaller cousin has apparently decided the library is a perfectly respectable place to spend the next 66 million years.
