I mean, where to start with that bunch? No wooden 🥄 here, only hits. Leroy was unanimously WOTN, however a special mention goes to the Soldera that was served alongside the old girl, both blind. What a wine that is, surely the most singular and unique Brunello- it was masquerading as GC Burg from the 90s. Superbo!

So pleased to be back out dining with clients after such a long hiatus in Singapore. Conditions are still rightfully restricted (groups of five, 10.30pm alcohol curfew, among other things) but we can at least introduce them to new wines once again.
Tonight was the turn of @donmelchorwine - owned by @conchaytoro who’s most famous wine, @almavivawinery , has long been represented in our portfolios.
Don Melchor 2018, Almaviva 2017, Opus One 2016 and Petit Mouton 17 were tasting blind together; and despite being a fraction of the price, Don Melchor more then held its own against the more recognised brands.

Domaine de Montille, Pommard 1er Cru Les Pézerolles 2016 - straight lined and mineral, aromatic nose but not currently generous on the palate. Some light red fruit but very delicate.. for now.

Lalou must have cast a magic spell in 2001 as her wines across the board are absolutely knockout and right now more approachable than the 2002s. However it must be said that this Musigny has a long long life ahead of it. Spellbinding but a powerful, firm finish, hinted at a continuing upward trajectory for this 🦄 . Sensational wine.
