Tbh, I took a December mental health break. I didn’t have it in me to do a ton, but especially not stand on a social media soapbox and post re: the zest of life when I was struggle to find my own frickin’ zester. BUT it’s a new year y’all, and I’m ret👏🏽 tuh👏🏽 be👏🏽 back. - This first quarter, I want to spend a LOT of time focusing on my interior design side hustle (shout out to you, @hjndesignstudio), and with a full-time job, the ONLY way I’m able to execute professionally and with any sanity is to schedule out literally every task everyday in my planner...like the OCD psycho I am🤯 This AM, I transitioned over to my new 2020 planner, and I’m so excited for all these fresh start feels I got. - And y’all, planners are great. And honestly, this grand planner transition was supposed to happen two weeks ago. But you know what’s better than filled out planners? - Taking pauses and paying attention to your mental health‼️‼️ - Instead of pushing through when I felt depleted, I took a break. I sat quietly with my thoughts. I spent time with ppl I love. I tried hard to feel my emotions rather than make logical decisions about what my emotions should be. I took extra workout classes. I read a TON. I even watched TV, which I rarely do. And you know what happened? I’m started to fill back up, and I finally feel ready to give 💯 rather than push through at a 15% max. - It’s ok to fall behind schedule. It’s ok to not post on social media. Y’all, it’s ok to not even GET on social media. It’s ok to spend a day in your pjs binge watching You on @netflix👀🙈 It’s ok to feel like you did “nothing” once in a while. - What’s important is that you take stock of how you’re feeling and how you’re doing, and you respond accordingly. What are some ways you’ve taken stock of your mental health recently?
2019 was great, but I’m already so here for my “2020 Perfect Vision” mantra. Cheers to a lot of clarity and laser focused intentionality this year for ya girl🥂What about you? What is your word or mantra for the upcoming year?
Santa, we’re ready for you🎅🏽🎁 - Mila wanted me to remind all y’all last minute gift givers that if you have any pet lovers left on your holiday list, the gift of pet insurance would be an awesome and loving idea♥️ Y’all know I adore my pet insurance company @figopet, but with the ability to curate your own policy based on coverage and cost, @figopet is the best way to tell your loved ones (and their beloved fur babies) that they’re special to you too🐶🐱🐰 - Two weeks ago, Mila and I had a follow up appt for her surgery, and turns out she had an infection that required x-rays and antibiotics (💸💸💸). $500 later, she’s back on the mend, and I’m not sweating the bill and didn’t hesitate one moment to opt for the best care for her because @figopet has 👏🏽me 👏🏽covered👏🏽 - Remember to click the link in my bio for 5% off any policy you choose today. Happy holidays, friends🎄🎄
Been a week since my world flipped over, and I’m doing fine! I’ve worked out almost every day, read two books this week that really developed me as a person and spent a lot of time with amazing friends doing things I enjoy. I also ate an entire box of donuts🤷🏽♀️ Fine looks different for everyone, people🙈😂 and it’s an absolutely acceptable emotion to feel...but happy is on the way, and I promise you’ll get back there. We both will.
Sundays are my absolute favorite day of the week. I can’t ever seem to put my finger on why, but the “vibe” isn’t ever lost on me. Recently, my weekends have been busier than the weekdays, but I always make sure to minimize obligations for the day in particular and carve out Sunday for whatever will make me feel most refreshed and recharged like:⠀ 💛 Going on long walks⠀ 🧡 Taking care of my hair⠀ 💙 Making a healthy dinner with leftovers to start the week These are a few of my fav recharges as of late. What do you do to truly take CARE of yourself on the weekends?
“I never want to be an entrepreneur🙅🏽♀️” Those words would regularly come out of my mouth. The truth was: I had no idea what that even meant. All I knew was that I was too afraid to leave a path that was already set out for me for another that was completely unknown🙈🙉🙊⠀ -⠀ But a few weeks ago, I was sitting in a training at my job for “business development,” and I realized 🗣The same skills that are gonna make me good at this job are also gonna make my own endeavors successful🙃⠀ -⠀ Hop over to the blog to read the five ways I’ve identified that your job is just like a startup and a few of the tips and resources I’m sharing to help you win on whatever path you choose💕
What kind of vacay was it if you don’t spend your first workday back calculating survival on your savings?
