My grandpa had a saying. Often when heâd get up out of his chair, if he struggled or had aches and pains, heâd say: âEvery picture tells a storyâ. (Side note, my mum now says it in the same context!). And how right he was. Every picture DOES tell a story. Every visual conveys a message. What story do your brand visuals tell? What message are you sending? Is it congruent to what you WANT to be saying? Theyâre from "Popular" from my favourite musical: Wicked. Iâve seen it 5 times. Thereâs a certain magic about it that I canât explain. And I know every single word to the songs. The other week I was driving, singing along to the soundtrack and those words jumped out at me. They completely sum up the basic principles of branding: itâs what other people think about you. Perception is everything. Itâs not about your skill. I know your services and offerings are high-end. I know youâre passionate and talented and offer the best.
