• Okay, so this is a bit of a big post. An era is ending. Another is beginning. Everyone’s favourite Englishman, Dave Astbury, has poured his sweat, blood and tears into the institution that is now Morrie’s. Elevating it to new highs week in week out. And now it’s time for the next challenge... this opens the door for local couple Petra Ek and Dean Hulston, hospitality professionals that have worked in Margaret River and abroad for well over a decade between them. This is Dean and Petra’s first foray into business management, so with that comes a learning curve that they’ve both embraced.

Dave won’t be going far and will remain in the background as a mentor to Petra and Dean for the next 12 months to ensure their success as they settle in. He is excited for a break after 4 years of living and breathing Morries and is beyond grateful to all the staff, locals and visitors over that amazing time.

“Owning Morries has been a challenging and exciting era for me. With the local community support and the hard work from my team, we’ve created and maintained an epic venue - I want to thank everyone for the role they had to play in its success,” said Astbury.

“I’m leaving Morries in a good place and in very capable hands. Petra and Dean are energetic, enthusiastic and experienced, a formidable duo and I’m sure they’ll do well.”

Stay tuned for the next chapter of our wonderful bar and restaurant! The only way is upwards and onwards, always!
