It takes a lot of makeup to look like I'm not wearing much makeup 🙃 PLUS sunscreen always! __ I've pretty much been wearing the @iliabeauty blush stick nonstop because it's a breeze to use and I love the color (shade: ladybird.) It doesn't last all day long but it's easy to touch up. __ My skin has been pretty calm lately *knocks on wood* so I've only really been spot concealing. Because I bought the new @glossier stretch concealer in G6 I'm trying to make it work... but I just don't love it. A thin layer of this concealer will cover minimal redness and that's about it. As soon as I try building it up, it gets greasy and cakey before eventually drying and shriveling up. It's not a cute look. I applied the @guerlain bee glow cushion (PR) to refresh my base midday (it's not something I would repurchase but I'm using it up as I have it.) __ The @ctilburymakeup lip gloss and brow gel are both just okay in my book. The gloss is glossy but not too sticky but also not pigmented enough for my tastes. The brow gel darkens my brows and gives some hold, but isn't as good as @glossier boy brow in my books. Both look more luxurious than they feel. __ I just realized how negative this makeup of the day post is but... that's life? I'm pretty ok with using products I think are just ok. The vast majority of the products I try out aren't the best or worst thing ever, they're just middle of the road. Sometimes on IG we feel pressured to take a hard stance but that ain't realistic most of the time. Everything has its pros and cons 🤷🏽♀️
Pro tip: smashing expired lipsticks is a fun form of stress relief. You can get some #texturetuesday content out of it too 🙃
Two of my favorite scents from two of my favorite candle brands @overoseparis & @boy__smells. Both scents are rose based but they're complete opposites (and both have solid throw.) ____ 🔥 Nudesse is everything sweet, but not in a fake, chemically, vanilla way. It truly smells like fragrant, freshly bloomed, roses in the rain-- which is what the candle is inspired by! 🔥 Cinderose is smokier and woodsier, but intermingled with the light floral smell you would expect from a rose candle. Notes are rose, orange blossom, and jasmine mixed with smoke, cedar, and birch tar. ____ PS the slight tunnel on the @boy_smells candle is completely my fault. I had to extinguish the flame before it had enough time to pool evenly. Thankfully the next time I burned it, the issue was fixed.
Giving up on skincare and becoming a meme (and corgi repost) account ☕️ Included a blank photo on the last slide so you can make your own meme and join me 🙆🏽♀️ ___ PS not actually giving up on skincare but am trying to get out of a funk.
I shared mini reviews of some empties on my stories this morning-- including this @laneige_us fresh calming toner (PR.) I have a bagillion toners to go through but I would definitely repurchase this down the line! It's very thin and watery and never makes my skin sticky. It's perfect for quickly layering onto my skin for some quick hydration. It's also a very generous size-- 8.4 fl. oz for less than $30 at @sephora. It doesn't have any fragrance or EOS or alcohol. The only way it could be improved, IMO, is if they packaged it as a mist!
Product spam feat. things I've been using lately (minus the @drjart serum which I haven't tried yet but it's there cause it's cute.) Nobody seems to read captions anyways these days, so no reviews today (to see how this post performs 😂)
Step 1: attempt to shoot lifestyle content Step 2: craft relatable yet aspirational caption Step 3: ?????
Things from this morning 🙆🏽♀️ _____ 🍊 @107oneoseven oil-in-gel cleanser (@credithink PR): Easy peasy, gentle cleanser. Doesn’t strip my face which is crucial in the winter. 🍊 @makeprem capsule sun gel: Officially done with this 💔 I’ve said it about 500x but this is everything I wanted Glossier invisible shield to be. It’s invisible (aka no white cast), thin, and doesn’t pill. 🍊 @commodity nectar fragrance (PR): I go through fragrance sooo slow so it doesn’t look like it— but this has been my most worn fragrance over the last year. It’s easy, slightly sweet, warm, and citrusy. It does not have the longest wear time but I’m ok with that. If you’re curious about commodity— they have various sampler sets which I def recommend 👍🏽 🍊 @patmcgrathreal tinted lip balm in flesh 3: This has grown on me— I like how it leaves behind a natural looking stain as it wears away. 🍊 @colourpopcosmetics jelly much shadow in morning light: I may be in the minority but I don’t like this formula at all 🤭 It goes on streaky and when I try to build up the pigmentation it sticks to itself. I’ve also had them for less than 6 months and they’re already starting to dry up. I much prefer their supershock formula.
Next stop on the repost express: #texturetuesday! ____ Here my @lilahbeauty blushes + 1 highlighter + 1 lip balm (PR) from a few months ago. The untouched divine duo in b. true has become a fast favorite and now there are smudges all over the place. 🙃 It's the perfect flushed natural pink shade and is a breeze to apply. I honestly don't even use any brushes. I warm it up with my finger in the little compact and then dab it onto my cheeks. PS if you've never used their products before, these little pebbles are smol. But they don't dry out as quickly as other cream products (lookin' at you, rms) so IMO they're more worth the $$.
