I once heard an entrepreneur I admire say that she vomited her way to success. Because you know what? Doing things of significance is uncomfortable. Change is uncomfortable. If you are waiting to feel comfortable, you'll never get there. The discomfort that's blended with excitement and hope? It means you're on the right track. Find someone to hold your hair and keep going.
You've always wanted your work to make a difference.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But you've also felt you had to choose: Do I want to make a difference? Or do I want to make a living? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And that tension between the two has meant that either: 1. You've taken whatever will pay the bills and settled for doing something unfulfilling⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. You've done something meaningful at the cost of your own finances and freedom⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. You've ping-ponged between the two, but never had both at the same time⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That's just how it works, right? Meaning vs. money?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ WRONG. You don't have to choose. When you have the right career strategy, the meaning ENSURES the money. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Join me tonight (Wednesday 4/8) at 8:30 pm EST. I'll be LIVE in my Facebook group - use the link in bio to join.
A couple weeks ago when much of the workforce was sent home to work, I thought being home would relieve the pressure off people who are in unsatisfying jobs. But I've found the opposite to be true for many people. Time at home might mean happiness for the first time in a long time and dread of going back. It might mean realizing that your absence from work doesn't make a difference because, ultimately, your work doesn't make a difference.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In response, I decided to offer 40 free career strategy sessions in April. These are exclusively for people who:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1️⃣100% know in their bones that they need a career change⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2️⃣don't know what career to choose⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3️⃣want their work to make a difference⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4️⃣want to have all this figured out by June⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If that's you, head to the link in my bio and get started with the free training. From there, you can grab a spot on my calendar. Not all 26 remaining spots will be available right away (there's just one of me!), so you can hop on the waitlist if you can't find a spot.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You’re deserving and capable of more than this. Let’s find it. 💫
I also know that no one regrets overcoming their fear of the unknown in return for living and working on their terms. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Will there be some bumps along the way? Guaranteed. But the same could be said for anything of significance you'll experience in this life. Traveling the world, committing to a partner, finishing a big creative project, becoming a parent? Bumpy, but worth it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If deep down you know you're meant for more, I hope you'll give yourself a chance. You'll never regret choosing yourself, and choosing meaningful work.
I know how much is hurts when your career is the source of your suffering and it robs your life of joy. I also know that avoiding or numbing the pain doesn't make it go away. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Discomfort is...uncomfortable. It's also the seed of change. If we're not willing to confront to truth of what's happening, we can't ever hope to change it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There's something wonderful for you on the other side of this. Let's find it.
