With this ring . . . I love the visual reminder of wedding rings. I love that it shows the world that you've made a commitment to love someone else through the good and the hard, the mess and the beauty of life. . . . . . #karenshoufler #weddingrings #mrsbox #illinoisweddingphotograher #chicagowedding
I don't remember where I heard this quote recently. It was likely on a podcast as I was driving to or from a session, but it really hit me in the gut and I had to ask Siri to make a note so I'd remember it. How true is this statement? What if we stopped doubting ourselves and just started taking small risks in the chance that maybe, just maybe we will succeed. I would hate to get to the end of my life and wonder what would have happened if we had just tried.
I've been spending so much time photographing beautiful couples in the city these past few weeks, and I'm loving it. There are hundreds of amazing locations to explore in the great city of Chicago, but I'll always be drawn to the water and the skyline. I can't wait for this sweet couple to see the rest of their photos tomorrow at their reveal session! You can find them next week on the blog! . . . . #karenshoufler #karenshouflercouple #chicagophotographer #chicago #chicagowedding #chicagoweddingphotographer #lakeshoreinlove #chicagoengagement #weddingphotographer #travelweddingphotographer #theknot
I had just moved to a new town where my new husband was attending Bible college. Our Lexee had just turned two, and we had just found out that we were pregnant with Hallee. Adam had just left to attend chapel at the college and Lexee was probably dancing around the house listening to Veggie Tales, her favorite. The cable guy was at our house getting us all hooked up. He came in to have me turn on the TV to make sure it was all working. We both stood there in our tiny living room staring at the TV as the second tower fell. I will never forget just picking Lexee up and squeezing her, much to her frustration I'm sure. I couldn't wait until Adam got home. When tragedy strikes, no matter how far away, you just want to hold on to your loved ones and mourn for those who don't get to do that anymore. Where were you?
