Yesterday I got to play in the snow the cutest pair- Adie and Isaac! They were originally hoping to get married in Colorado this summer but decided to move the celebration back home. For their session I tried my best to find a little slice of Estes Park right here in Muncie 😉 I spend a lot of time scouting cool locations for my couples and this baby pine forest is a favorite. You’d never guess it’s between a main road and apartment complex! Prime Midwest photographer moment right there haha. They have the most lighthearted, joyful energy and I can’t WAIT to party in May for their big day xoxo 
Hi. If you can’t find me it’s because I hopped in the car and drove somewhere South for sunshine and warmth 🌴 Jk I’m answering emails and folding laundry in my living room. Can we skip the next few months and return to summer? I need water sessions stat. 
I always joke that my job is watching people make out in the woods and documenting it 😂 But hey, sometimes there’s spinning too. 
Pre-covid my favorite ritual was to work in a coffee shop 1-2 times a week. Even if it was paying a sitter to go for an hour or two. It broke up the mundane and I swear Muncie is Stars Hallow because you run into half the people you've ever met in one sitting. It's so lovely.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's been over 10 months since I've gotten to work in one (minus a meeting) and I've been missing it a *little* extra. I've recently resorted to Youtube playlists of lofi + rainy cafes in the background and I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. ❤️ 
Finally took down all of our Christmas decor but decided I'm keeping the living room string lights up until spring. Here's to combating the 100th day in a row (minus a tad yesterday) of grey skies ✨ 
In the last week I knew I needed a mental refocus. I deleted the social apps from my phone and set some boundaries. I do this occasionally for a reset and each time I question why I don't do it more. I'm usually a professional excuse maker to myself with thoughts like 'ah it's wedding season I can't get off right now.' Or 'well now it's booking season I can't not be online' (conveniently covering the whole year) 😅 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I pick a time to hop on my computer to check in, post occasionally + respond as needed but overall avoid looking at my feed or stories for more than five minutes. It's improved my headspace immensely and I’m thinking more clearly. I've been power walking with coffee to my favorite podcasts to replace some of that scrolling time and it's what my soul needed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We were never meant to be connected every second of the day. Especially in seasons like this where taking time to process is extra important. Side benefit- the amount of laundry that has actually made in into the washer, folded AND put away in the same day is insane 😂 It doesn’t have to be all in or out to be effective. You can alter your relationship with the online world as you need it and that’s always okay.
