• 2021 was supposed to be a very intentional year regarding my time & my schedule. That kindaaa went to mush due to covid reschedules 🤪However! 2022 gives me another shake and I am sticking to it darn it! I have a hard fast cap on my wedding schedule (only taking 5 more couples) & I will only be shooting one session per week. Is “time” anyone else’s currency? Quality time their love language? 🙋🏼‍♀️ so thankful I was able to create some lovely yesterday with such a lovely team of vendors!!

  • Yesterday in church during worship, they were singing the most powerful song about the healing power of God. People were freely laying hands on others, praying for them, worshipping with no masks or hand sanitizers in sight. Just humans being free, worshipping & joyful humans.

Watching people do this as I held a baby in my arms, hearing voices singing over and over don't tell me He can't do it was the most powerful thing. I pray a revival and a newness for this year over + over. I'm thankful for spring and all the newness & goodness it brings.

  • Next week at this time, I will be back in the saddle photographing marriages!

2021 will be the most weddings I've photographed in nine years due to COVID reschedules. I think all wedding vendors are in the same boat for the most part!
It's going to be a wild (+ good) year!

Hi! Officially back at it for 2021 🌸
  • When I had our first baby a few years ago, I remember wanting to look to other women that were mothers & running a full time photography business well. It wasn't very easy to find. The industry was very young or full of big full time photographers with no children.
I remember almost feeling like I wanted to hide the fact that I WAS a mom as if it was going to be viewed as weakness to my potential brides + grooms that were in a different stage of life.
I worried that they would think, Well, she isn't going to be as devoted to us because she's now a mom...she has kids.....I want someone younger....etc

It's been a lovely journey to realize that becoming a mother has made me a better person, photographer, and business owner.
I have a different perspective now. I photograph and treasure moments in a different way.
I never even had a desire to photograph families at all until I had children. Now, I can look through my camera and savor what I know the mom on the other end of my lens *needs* captured.

Becoming a mother made my business more precise & refined. Improved my systems & focused my scope of work. I finally became comfortable with boundaries and the word no.

As we transition to living as a family of five, it will be another year of refinement, improvement, and figuring out my new sweet spot to my title as Momma foremost, and balancing my sweet little business with it .

Thank you to all the clients who have supported my business through the years and respected my business boundaries. I'm so thankful to all of you and I cannot wait to serve many of you again this season...with a fresh perspective & new camera in hand! Maternity leave has been wonderful & I encourage all mom business owners to set yourself up to ACTUALLY take one!!! In addition, don’t forget: motherhood is never a weakness in the world, it’s a strength.
