“he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 🖤 His work is finished. Wholeness, healing and peace are now offered to me, to you. Because of the cross. Because of His sacrifice. It is done. And He is Worthy.
I’m singing out your lovely name I’m giving you everything You make my soul alive You put your love inside 🖤 There’s nothing that I have need of Cuz there’s nothing you haven’t done You make my soul alive You put your love inside 🖤 Love this song Never Going Back from United Pursuit 🖤 This lady was loosely inspired by a variety of photos shared from our dear missionary friends who serve in the Marshal Islands 🌴 @changing_focus_ministries
I love my day job working with kindergarteners, but I also love coming home to a quiet moment and a shift to other tasks. This morning looked like lots of rhyming and sight word practice and 2 news interviews (that’s not a normal part of my job for sure!!) ☕️ This afternoon looks like some quiet time painting and later loving my family through dinner prep and maybe even baking some cookies. Though, those are as much for me as for them 😉 ☕️ Also, who else is super grateful that the sun come out this afternoon!?! 🙋♀️ It’s still cold and windy, but yay for sunshine!!! Spring is happening and I’m so ready!
I’m working on a small collection of these ladies - these souls set free. These will be available for purchase by the end of the month. It’s been such a joyous thing to pray through each one, to declare God’s freedom and joy and peace as I paint each one. I can’t wait to send these dancers out into the world, these pictures of freedom.
“...in your presence there is fullness of joy” Psalm 16:11 💛 I think for some of us, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and stressed by so many things. Our families. Our jobs. Schools. Community issues. Church issues. Politics. Health. You name it, and we humans have come up with a way to obsess and stress over it. 😮 All of the stressing robs us of our joy. And if I’m not feeling true joy, I need to ask myself where I’ve been dwelling. God’s presence is the only place to know fullness of joy. 💛 It makes me think of Romans 8:6. “To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” 👍🏻 Joy, peace, and life are available to us according to God’s Word (aka THE BIBLE) despite the circumstances around us. If you’re not feeling that, may I gently remind you (and myself, because 🙋♀️ if you didn’t sleep well last night while you thought of and worried over all the things) that the answer is getting back into the presence of God. Getting renewed by the Holy Spirit. Meditating on God’s precious Word. 🙏 Today I want the end the week rejoicing and at peace. Who wants to join me?
So excited to see this book in person! My work on Lauren Burdette’s new book. It looks even better in person. I’m looking forward to reading it 📚@yoursacredstory @derekthorntondesign
Sing in splendor, in majesty Strength and beauty be Unto your name, Ancient of days You're Holy And we tremble before your throne Our hearts prepare you room We come and adore, ruined before your glory Great is the Lord most worthy of all praise 🎵 Had this song from Housefires on repeat while I painted this. Go listen. You’re welcome.
Not a bad way to spend the last day of spring break 💫
