It’s okay to not be “OK” right now. In fact, it’s really normal to not be ok right now. • Don’t let these photos fool you either. My toes are undone, my fingernail polish is chipped, my eyebrows are screaming to be threaded and the glimmer of abs I had back in March are missing in action. 🙃 • I know that I personally am finding myself on a roller coaster 🎢 between emotions and business and finances and body image and everything altogether. • I feel like I’ve seen more ups and downs in the last 5 months than I’ve seen in the last couple of years actually. But I can feel myself emerging through it. I can see the silver lining in this season & I know there’s something great coming on the other side of this long, dark tunnel. For me & for you. • The older I get, I no longer believe that “everything happens for a reason” but I do believe that everything can be an opportunity for growth and breeding grounds for strength and resilience. • We’re in those breeding grounds now. We have to choose resilience. Let’s kick 2020’s ass together my friend. We got this 💪🏼

Words have power, but actions speak louder. x Watching the evil, the chaos & the cries for change unfold in our country, no words that I try to string together as a white woman seem to brush the surface. To put it simply: I’m perplexed as to why it’s so difficult for humans to treat other humans with kindness? Period. That’s what it comes down to at the core, doesn’t it? x Rooted in the Bay Area, with an education from one of the most liberal schools in our country, many of my courses were backed by history of social justice. In one course, we dived into + discussed social movements from the era of slavery to the Black Panthers, Feminists , LGBTQ+ & all the way to the 1992 LA Riots sparked from the injustice of Rodney King & into today. We studied how these pivotal movements were sparked, how they took place & how they changed societies in incredible ways. We celebrated action taken by all. x I understand that my education, however, is unique. I owe a great part of my world view to my experience at SF state. I see how the rest of the state of CA, the US & our world does not celebrate diversity the way that the Bay Area does; that our education system & societal norms are extremely flawed + I wish things would’ve caught on by now. x I can’t speak on every part of this deplorable situation & I do not claim to be the best ally nor fully educated. However, myself & my biz will always accept, serve, & celebrate all. Regardless of race, class, gender identification or religion. YOU are welcome here. I realize that this may not be obvious to someone I don’t know looking in. So, I am stating it plainly. I see that my portfolio as a photographer does not reflect my love for diversity & that’s what I am going to work on as a start to do my part in where we are at today. x @tianash has a course I’m taking on how to be an ally & more inclusive with the LGBTQ+ community in this biz & I’ll be extending the conscious inclusivity effort into BIPOC. Though it’s small, it doesn’t stop here. There’s so much more I want to do, but this is where I will start. Subconscious Bias must be interrupted. Racism must stop. Today & Always, Black Lives Matter.

This week you can find me here, behind my desk & at Wholefoods, behind the register📍 x Originally, I was supposed to be in Aspen, Colorado at a business + photography workshop up-leveling my business this week. x Instead, I’m here in my little home up-leveling my business (in a bit of a different way) from my closet office. & I’m grateful for it. x 5 things I’m grateful for right now: 1. My health + wellness 2. My little home 3. An online community + real life friends 4. Still being able to pay my bills 5. Beautiful weather x What are you grateful for today?
