𧪠4 science-backed tips for engaging courses Life is busy, have you noticed? Our environments are filled with TONS of things to pay attention to at any given moment. But brains have limited space, meaning, we canât pay attention to everything going on around us. So, our brains filter out everything thatâs not relevant (thanks brain!) đ§ Only the important things are brought to our conscious attention. After that, the information hangs out in our working memory. Your working memory is the place where new information is stored while your brain processes it and figures out how to store it. Think of it kind of like a waiting room. But the thing about this waiting room is that it has LIMITED chairs- only about 5 đŞ Once all 5 chairs are full, itâs at max capacity and there just isnât enough space for anything else. Still with me? Cool. Letâs talk about what this has to do with your course đť Your studentsâ brains can really only pay attention to 5 pieces of information at a time. Theyâve got 5 chairs and if youâre trying to pack more in there than they have room for, you run the risk of them: â Becoming overwhelmed â Losing interest â Not completing your course â Not getting the results they want And I know that's the opposite of what you want! You want your courses to be impactful and valuable to your students. So here are 4 few brain-friendly course tips: đ§ Start with the simpler concepts and build up to the more complex ones. đ§ Provide examples to give the new information context- that way people donât have to try so hard to understand what youâre saying. đ§ Simple slides. Think less words, more pictures. Stop making your students listen to you AND read a novel at the same time. đ§ Donât JAM your courses with too much information. Eliminate what isnât necessary, otherwise itâs just taking up space in someoneâs brain when itâs not actually helpful for them. If you want another set of eyes on your course to make sure it's optimized for how your students learn, check out my signature Revamp to Relaunch service. Youâll get a full course audit and specific recommendations for improvement. You know where the link is đĽ°

One tip [that youâve never heard before!] for designing a program that gets KILLER results I have a masters degree in program evaluationâŚ. but what is that? And more importantly why should you care? đ¤ Program evaluation is the process of⌠well, evaluating a program. More specifically đ it means taking time to figure out if your course/program is working for people in the way that you intended it to. To do this, you talk with your clients after theyâve completed your course or program to hear about their experiences, their transformations, and to get feedback. đŁď¸ I spent 2 years learning the art and science of collecting data from clients and learning how to make that ACTIONABLE so you know how to use it. Combine that with my degree in psychology and my love of learning and cognition⌠and the result? Youâve got one KICK ASS program. Neat, right? So back to the âwhy should you care?â part. When evaluate your programs, youâll learn a few things: đ Key elements of your program that helped with the transformation: Itâs SUPER valuable to figure out what your peeps favorite parts were and what helped them the most. When you create new offerings, you can keep these in mind to make your offer irresistible. đĽ Where you can kick it up a notch: When you ask what didnât work for people or what they still need, you have the opportunity to find gaps you didnât even know existed. This is GREAT to spark creative problem solving and innovative ideas. With these juicy nuggets, you can make changes to your program so your next round of students and clients will get even BETTER results. đŞ What does this mean for you? Having a profound impact on your peeps and getting stronger testimonials. AND- I can almost guarantee you that your competitors are NOT doing this, so it puts you way ahead of the curve. ⨠When clients see that you are being intentional about asking for feedback and USING that feedback to better serve them? That goes a LONG way. Itâs just good business. This is exactly what I do in my Revamp to Relaunch service. If you have a course youâre looking to update, you donât want to miss this! Are you selling lifetime updates on your course⌠but then never updating? Raise your hand if youâve ever promised lifetime updates to a course youâve never actually updated đđźââď¸ And no, I donât mean updating your slides when you get new branding, or adding a new bonus lesson here and there. Funny story about that actually- I purchased a course maybe 4 years ago now? Within the last year there was an âupdateâ which ended up being a âbonus lessonâ from a âguest expert.â All of that is in quotations because (1) I love putting shit in quotations and (2) it was clear the creator added it because she's making commish from an affiliate link in that lesson 𤢠Updates should be happening, but not because YOU are getting something out of it. The truth is, you are a living and breathing person thatâs always growing and evolving, and therefore your course should reflect that ⨠As you learn more, some of the information in your course isnât going to be relevant anymore because youâve found a more efficient way to do it. OR maybe you might want to add things that will help get your peeps results better or faster. AND, what changes are you making based on student feedback? đŁď¸ These might range from small tweaks to large edits, but your students have SO many valuable insights that you can tap into. Getting suggestions from them is a great way to make sure the âlifetime updatesâ you promise are worth their while. If youâre guilty of never updating... donât sweat it. It happens. But if youâre promising lifetime updates, make sure that youâre actually staying true to that so it doesnât end up as an empty marketing tactic. In my signature service, Revamp to Relaunch, Iâll show you how to update YOUR course so your students get better results. Linkâs in my bio if you feel called to apply đ PS- if you havenât seen the video that this meme is from.. please search âwhy you always lying full lengthâ on YouTube and report back đ

It saddens me that we live in a world where this is even necessary. That saying âhey, I respect you no matter WHO you are,â has to be explicitly stated, because there are so many people that donât hold that view 𼴠So I want to take a moment to say that YOU (yes, you!) are SO so welcome and accepted here. All... - Races - Religions - Gender expressions - Sexual orientations - Sizes are welcome. You are welcome, you are safe, and you are accepted here exactly as you are. However what I will NOT accept here are people who are: - Racist - Sexist - Homophobic - Transphobic - Fatphobic And honestly just anyone who doesnât operate from a place of kindness and respect for others, and isnât willing to learn, grow, do better, and be better. Iâm not about that life. So if thatâs you, this isnât the place for you. We operate based on love around here. That is all đ
