Change cannot happen without YOU doing your part. Watch what you buy and where you spend your money because those are the companies you support. There is a revolution right in front of us and we are all necessary pieces of the puzzle to the bigger picture.

Amidst a pandemic, we may find ourselves struggling financially leaving us confused, distraught, and unsure of where or how to help. ⠀ ⠀ First, as I stated yesterday, I have a number of links to GoFundMe pages, Black Owned Business Directories, and some twitter threads that list places where you can not only donate, but share; increase visibility.⠀ ⠀ Second, @maasaipg has developed an email template in which you may fill in all identifying information and send off to your local government; demand change.⠀ ⠀ Third, the artist @zoe.amira is taking action via a video project on YouTube. Her video is generating ad revenue which will then be donated to the top 10 orgs, funds, etc; by watching this video you are raising awareness, educating yourself, and supporting numerous causes financially.⠀ ⠀ Fourth, find resources and information within the #BlackLivesMatter and don't stop sharing.⠀ ⠀ Finally, @nybucketlist has an entire post dedicated to 40 unique ways to help right this second from behind your screen.

This is a necessary change of pace. Silence is complacency and complacency to blatant and archaic ideas is an act of violence. There is more than one way for us to break the silence. I am choosing to use my platform to amplify my allyship that I show in my day-to-day interactions and personal beliefs. As a small business owner, I will be sharing and extending my help to Black Owned Businesses who are need of financial support for damages, cleanup, to keep their doors open, etc. I encourage you to do the same. In my bio, I have listed a number of GoFundMe links and organizations that support black owned businesses. On my Facebook, you'll be able to find these links directly. Even if you cannot donate, you can share. And finally, in the coming days I will continue to use my platform and my voice to offer information and resources. To my friends, community members, colleagues, acquaintances, strangers, and those who I have not met yet: I see you, I hear you, I am with you, and although I will not be able to fully understand your pain, I will do everything in my power to do more.
