๐ธPhoto Tip of the Day ๐ญโ โ โ โ ๐ Pick a CONSTANT ๐โ โ โ โ When determining image exposure settings, pick your constant from the exposure triangle (Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO), and then add in your variables ๐.โ โ โ โ Letโs say that you want a shallow depth of field in your final image. Your constants are ISO 100 with an aperture of 2.8. Those are the things that cannot change. That is your focus. ๐ โ โ โ โ So your variable (the thing compensating between the 2 constants) is Shutter Speed. Adjust your variable until the image is properly exposed OR exposed to your liking. โ โ As you experiment with different settings โ๏ธ, remember to pick a constant based on the desired end result. Play with it a little bit โ that is how you start to grow ๐ฑ โ โ [๐ Link in bio] for more tips like this! โ โ โ โ REMEMBER to tag me in your tests!โ โ โ โ โข Featured Dish: Garlic Hummus and Toasties โข โข โข โข โข #thequiingredient #compositephotography #foodtographyschool #foodphotographer #foodphotos #cinemagraph #foodphotoshoot #learnfoodphotography #iphonephotography #foodphotographyandstyling #editingphotos #foodphotographytips #iphonephotoshoot #iphonecamera #learnfoodphotography #foodpics #foodphotographytips #foodphotographyprops #foodphotography #bhgfood

There is an ongoing photography ๐ธ myth that you need tons of props to be a good photographer. This. is. FALSE! ๐ซโ โ โ โ Like with many things, your style will develop and change, and you want to make sure that the props that you get fit your aesthetic as you grow. You just need a few key ๐ items to start your collection, and you can build from that (Plus, you probably have many of these around the house ๐ก already!).โ โ โ โ Here are some of my favorites:โ โ โ โ ๐ Paintbrushes: Paintbrushes are helpful if you are working with things like flour, powdered sugar, or granules of any kind because you can easily brush them out of the way ๐งน.โ โ โ โ ๐จ Mini (dip) bowls: these help by adding a "story" element to your image. For example, If Iโm shooting chocolate chip cookies ๐ช, I might use a small bowl to put chocolate chips. It's a great added visual touch.โ โ โ โ ๐ฆ Spray Bottle: A spray bottle helps when taking pictures of drinks ๐ธ(spritz away to make them look cold!), but you can also use it to spray vegetables to give them that freshly showered produce ๐ฅ look.โ โ โ โ Want more tips? ๐๐พโโ๏ธCheck out my go-to favorite photography ๐ธ tools ๐ on the blog!
