• Well, we are spending our last few days at home (quarantining) before we make the move to Austin a little early before baby Blair is born! It is so weird to think when we finally get to come back to Fredericksburg we’ll be a family of four! I am so excited to expand our little family but a little scared to see how the dynamics will change when taking care of a heart baby. To be honest, I don’t feel qualified to be a CHD mom. I am not medically inclined or know what I’m doing when you start talking about oxygen levels and heart machines...but I know the wonderful team at Dell will teach us everything we need to know and make sure we feel completely confident before bringing Blair home to take care of her on our own. It’s scary but I’m willing to learn and adapt however we need to. .
We finally got all moved and settled into our new home so it feels great knowing it’ll be ready when we do get to move back! I’ll do my best to keep you posted through the process! 💕

  • Tomorrow I have my first wedding since the quarantine and last wedding until maternity leave so trust me when I say this wedding is special to me! It will also be my first time shooting a wedding at @sunsetrancheventcenter and I cannot wait! These past two weeks have been absolutely crazy with moving and getting settled in our new home, doctors appointments and chasing our toddler around. At 36 weeks pregnant, we honestly couldn’t have done it without so much help from family and friends and we are so grateful. 2020 sure has thrown us our fair share of curveballs and surprises but we are just tackling them as they come!

  • We just wanted to say thank you to all those who have reached out this week about Blair. Ben and I were just talking yesterday about how amazing it is to see your community step up for you when you need them. And friends, we need you! We need your prayers. There is no new news on Blair as right now it is a waiting game till she arrives. But the second she does arrive it will be a fight, a long fight. She has a half of a heart and this is something she will deal with all her life but you better believe we will be fighting with her every step of the way. She has an unbelievably strong team of doctors that we are so happy with and she will be in the very best hands at Dell Children’s. 💕
So here’s how you can pray for Blair and our family: that I will make it to 39 weeks pregnancy, for a safe delivery, the ambulance ride Ben and Blair will take to Dell, that they will let my dad come stay with me in the hospital after they take Blair away (this virus stuff makes everything much more complicated 🤦🏼‍♀️) and obviously that Blair will make it through her first open heart surgery with flying colors. We are also so grateful Peyton has wonderful family she will be staying with while we are away but she’s never spent a night away from us so I’m scared that’s going to be hard on her. I pray for the conversation we are going to have with her that her baby sister’s heart is very sick and it might be a while till she can see or hold her. But I lay awake at night envisioning the thought of seeing my two girls a couple years from now playing together in the living room while I cook dinner and just being so thankful that the worst is behind us. We are operating in crisis mode right now and just handling one thing at a time day by day. In between dealing with a toddler, juggling work, packing up our house and moving next week, I am also back and forth to Austin multiple times a week for doctors appointments. (Which I have to go to alone because of the virus.) So yes, things are hard and stressful right now, but we also feel a sense of peace and trust that the Lord is going to do his will with sweet Blair and we rest in that.

  • Katie and Jarrod are tying the knot at @featherstoneranch next year and I cannot wait! We had to switch their engagement location at the last minute due to the virus and it didn’t phase them one bit! It felt so great to finally get back to work with my sweet bride and grooms 💕
